The last time I flew I felt sorry for the smokers who don't know about snus. Actually it also was a bit fun to hear the couple in the row before me figure out the best way to smoke a cigarette again as soon as possible, once the plane has landed.

    Cheers!

I'm packing 4 cans (all plastic) with me in my cargo shorts. I'm going to cruise right through that metal detector, and not even pack my snus in my carry-on!

Ahhh, I remember going through all that hell the last time I flew (which was years ago). I can't remember which airport it was, but it was one of the huge ones that you had to walk forever just to get outside, so they had indoor smoking rooms.

Holy shit, it was disgusting! The rooms were all stained dingy yellow, the floors had ash everywhere, and you could actually see the tar build-up on the air vents. It actually made me physically sick to be in there for more than a few minutes...

I felt bad for the guy who had to clean up those shitholes every day...

Just got back. No problems in the carry-on x-ray, or through the metal detector...

I fly to Alaska tomorrow and will be on a boat for three days. The snus will be just the thing for this trip! I had to leave the airport to smoke last year and then go back through security each time I came back in. That was no fun with a six hour lay over.

              Frequent Flyer

Airports to me are still a nightmare but Snus has made things much easier.

A US snuffer in an airport got me started on Snus. He suggested smokeless but US snuff/chew/chaw always messed up my mouth. I went looking for an alternative to US snuff/chew/chaw.

I was thinking of the movie, "Sexy Beast" when Ben Kingsley lights up on the plane in Spain. Too funny! The explaination why he lit up! LOL!

I am in the Merchant Marine and carry about 40 cans for a 4 month hitch on the ship. (I usually have several cans to travel home with.)

I don't have to leave my work space to go out for a smoke. The Snus lasts much longer so I do not have to stock up on cigarettes at every port and no one bums off me because they don't really know what it is.

Movies are great too. Soda and a Snus to make it through without missing a beat.

I tell Women they are actually nicotine tea portions to aid in stopping smoking. They love that and I get hit on more because of it. (Except for the ones that think it is Snuff or Chew immediate and prejudge.)

I carry a roll in my carry on, a few in my jacket pockets, and the rest in a postal document map roll/tube in my check in. (Saves cans being dented or mashed in travel.)

Relatives can mail any extra in an emergency if any are lost. Mail is at least one or two months to my destination so I have to carry a bunch.

Never had a question so far even with my large carry catch. I make sure US Brand names are mixed with each lot too so I can say, "Look, it is commercial smokeless tobacco. See, look at the brand names!", in case that is brought up.

I use my regular portions first then later in the tour go to the white portions as they store longer.

I have to post this here; it's about using tobacco on the plane but definitely not snus. I work in the travel industry, as director of air operations for a high-end tour company. Recently we had a huge group of Canadians doing a road rally in vintage cars (I mean like 1911 cars) from Shanghai to Paris. One couple decided, god only knows why, to bring their 3-week old infant along for a portion of the trip. They were concerned about the comfort of traveling with the little guy, so they sprung for business class on the international flights. Yesterday I was copied in on an email complaint to Air China, regarding their flight from Vancouver to Beijing. The mother said the the pilots smoked cigarettes in the cockpit for the entire 13 hour flight... Cigarettes! On an international flight! Since they had a baby, and there was no first class section this particular flight, they were given "priority" bulkhead seating, directly behind the cockpit. Too goddamn funny. I knew damn well the chinese had zero respect for non-smoking signs, but on an int'l flight?? The pilots? Hahaha.

To get back on topic, I have taken plenty of snus thru airports all over the US, and in Frankfurt, Tashkent and Khiva Uzbekistan, Almaty Kazakhstan, and Mongolia without anyone batting an eye. No worries at all. Snus on the plane for the win.

Edit: I was mistaken: this year they aren't doing the road rally in vintage cars. I think they are scoping out next year's route in Range Rovers, and this year its Beijing to Riga, Latvia. Their "normal" route is NYC to Vancouver, ship the vintage cars to China, then Shanghai to Paris. Its called the Great Race. Just in case anyone was interested in what I'm blabbering about. Cheers.
