What to drink while using snus

Ok, so over the past month or so I learned that unlike dip, a beverage will enhance your snus experience...and quite well. So here is where I like to throwout my favorite beverages with my favorite snus types.

I have yet to try any of the loose types, I stick with the portions.
    So here goes

Goat Rape No.2- Iced tea with lemon was great. It really made this snus more enjoyable, and added to every flavor, they all just sort of mingled in my mouth and danced a happy dance of taste enjoyment.

General mini dry mint- I had this with a mojito and damn! that was fantastic. All the while the girls that were talking to me seemed to take up an interest with my "exotic" tobacco, and kept asking me questions about it. One even wanted to try it.(that lasted about 3 minutes and a sad waste of a portion)

Elixyr pepparmint- Iced tea yet again. I am a huge tea drinker, and to me the taste of iced tea goes well with a bit of minty flavor. Really coincides well with one another.

Jakobsson's ice fruit- Dr Pepper was a good mix. I have always liked dr pepper and found that the combination of the 2 was quite nice.

Catch mini portion peppermint- Iced tea was grand...yet again

Well, I guess the lot of you can see that Iced tea is a great mix no matter what the flavor. It just seemes to mesh well with anything even the LD, or Level was more enjoyable with it.

    Happy snus'ing

That explains soooo much! . I'm just messing with ya!

I voted DP because it goes well with so many different varieties. But I drink different iced teas with different varieties as well.

Chai spiced black tea goes well with Skruf, Claq Qui, Nick&Johnny, Lucky Strike, and Retro.

Earl Grey goes great with Roda Lacket, Prima Fint, and Goat Rape and #2.

I haven't found anything for Gotland Green, so I'm looking for some suggestions there!

You really need to add coffee to the poll. I didn't vote.

And beer... I'm not too big on selectively paring snus with beverages, since I'm almost always drinking either coffee, water, or beer (hopefully in that order). But a beverage is essential IMO, and for most of the day it's water. One big winner though is GR#2 los and gin and tonic.

Edited twice because I type like a little girl arm-wrestles.

Gotta get a good single malt on the list - a Lucky and a Laphroaig is like heaven!

I second what Sage said. Coffee and snus are a match made in heaven.

Also, Shiner Bock, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Guinness Extra Stout work great with Grov white.

Another vote for coffee. I've also found that a strong citrus snus goes very well with beer. Gotland Gul, and Guinness draught are my choices.

No doubt, this poll really needs to add coffee and beer.

Grov Svart stands up to coffee pretty well in the morning, but I enjoy Grov Svart less and less, the more I use. Coffee is such a strong drink that many snus varieties just buckle under it. Heavily flavored snus like some V2 brands seem to stand up the best against coffee, IMHO.

Snus and beer is just a delight. Plain snus like Grov or Ettan kinda mingle into the malty body of beer, and give it a nice complement. Traditonal bergamot or berry flavored snus varieties ride nicely over the floral, hoppy top note of a beer. Traditonal bergamot snus offers both floral and fruity complements to the top note of a beer, and just blossoms there, while tobacco flavor melds into the malty body. Super nice.

I've never been much of a tea drinker, but I find myself brewing more and more iced-teas since trying swedish snus. Any of the fruity, herbal Bigelow Zinger teas that are available in American supermarkets can easily complement snus without overpowering it. Earl Grey works too, but can be a bit redundant with the snus.

Most snus varieties do well with most soda drinks. Diet sodas contain so much citric acid that a citrusy snus just mixes right it. Paired with a cola, a citrus or floral or berry snus just takes over the top note, and offers some contrast to the cola flavor in the body of the drink.

Now, the GR#2 has such a delicate balance between berry and tobacco that anything but water just seems to clobber it, wasting the portion. I love the GR#2, but I just don't have the patience to give it the alone time it deserves.

Gotland Green, same thing. Its fresh green apple goodness counters its bitterness just perfectly. It's a complete thing all by itself. Anything but water seems to spoil the portion.

Since I'm not an all day water kinda guy, I just can't find a place for GR#2 or Gotland Green in my rotation... Give me a cheap Phantom and a cheap beer, I'm just as happy.

                        Sorry for the essay!

I'm a bartender so I'm constantly pairing drinks with food. I would think that citrusy Snuses would be paired well with a citrusy beverage like maybe a good wheat beer or a lambic. I would like to see a grape flavored Snus that would go well with wine. Hard liquors would be very overpowering, aside from Vodka which is a taste enhancer and I have found brings the flavors out more. Coffee does go great with those more Tobacco flavored Snuses, I don't know what to vote for...so many variables lol

I have found that trying to wet the snus with sodas while they're in your mouth wasn't a very good idea, it must be the salt interacting with the Co2.

Not only that, but it should be the first choice.

I've recently become addicted to energy drinks(NOS fruit punch, in particular). LD black rocks that particular world.
