I've been thinking of cutting back.

I'm trying to like nasal snuff, but I think in the end it's not my thing. Cigars are nice once in a while, but I can't justify the cost of the one's I really enjoy.

I firmly believe every type of tobacco enjoyment has a slightly, noticeably different effect. I like feeling balanced. Maybe it's all in my head.

I get a hankering for a dip now and then I just can't satisfy with snus. Same for cigarettes. I'm comfortable knowing a pack lasts me over a week. I'm comfortable having options too.

I know I will never settle on one brand or type like I did when I only smoked. Even then I still dipped, but it was always only one brand.

    Snus has broadened my horizons.

My rotation depends on what my body craves. I usually start the morning with a Thunder Frosted and step down to Roda Lacket from there; however, there have been days that I've chained both Thunder and Oden's Stark all day.

On a typical day, I usually use 3 to 5 strong portions and 3 to 5 regular portions. During the evening I switch to los. Again, depending on how I feel, I could use Grov or Ettan; however, may crave more nic and use Oden's Stark or General Extra Stark.

I also follow the same pattern with nasal snuff. My all day is Poschl's Gletscher Prise (I was a heavy menthol smoker for over 30 years). If I really crave nic, I add in some Rooster or Toque Quit. During the evening hours it's Toque Time for me. I use various flavors and even mix some.

From time to time, I break-up my rotation by adding some flavor to my evening los with various liquors. I've found that Schnapps, Coffee and Chocolate liquors work best for me. For a good nic rush and flavor treat, try a few drops of Fire Water Cinnamon liquor mixed with Oden's Kanel Stark los. :P God is that good stuff. Kick in some Toque Peppermint or St. Clement's and it makes me wonder why I ever smoked.

When I do feel the need for a smoke however, I turn to something Sage brought to my attention - Vaporization. I have both a Vapor Genie and Vaporstar. I make my own smoking blends for these which includes a combination of legal herbs, rooster snuff and menthol tobacco. A vaporized pinch of this mix instantly provides me with a very satisfying nic hit without the need to have a cigarette.

Since I've begun snus, I have not smoked a single cigarette. Whenever I get the urge. a stark portion will do the trick 99 percent of the time. If I find myself craving more, a vap hit brings that to an end.

One final thing I want to add here. Since I've been off of cigs, my sense of both taste and smell have greatly improved. Additionally, no more morning hacking and my breathing and lung capacity have greatly improved. I only wish I knew about snus years ago.

You are normal for an OCD, weird person IMO
In my head, that actually makes sense! Thanks for the compliment Mr. Snuff!

From what I'm gathering, most people DO rotate, albeit in many different ways! Some just dive into their stash all willy nilly. And some just stick to a few select brands.

This has been quite interesting so far! I hope more people post with their snus habits! 8)

I'm totally random. I start the morning out with a stark or extra stark, then jump to regular portions, another strong after lunch, and then back to regular power. Lös in the evenings /weekends. Brand matters little. I have about 12 brads that are mainstays, and several more that I like now and then, basically I use whatever looks good in the freezer and use it up, then go get some more. I generally have 4 cans open. Extra, Stark, regular, lös. Right now I have a can of mini Taboca open also, but it's a tester.

I carry an old tin (Taboca Strong Minis) with dividers quartering the space inside. Inside I always have (clockwise from 12) General Sterk & Onyx, Grov Svart (Black), one or more random types and General White.

The OCD aspect (other than the above) that I can't help myself about is trying to keep my stock levels of the regulars (Q1, 2 & 4) approximately equal.

It is totally irrational I know but I can't help it  I'm running lower on Grov Svart than the others so I'm trying to ration it (rather than just buy more which would be the sane thing to do).

(I'm using this tin because it's small, metal and I don't use the ashtray lids anyway.)

                Thanks!

This is tin version #3. I started doing this with an old [rectangular] N&J East tin but the diagonal dividers didn't work so well shape-wise. Then I tried a Mocca Mini tin but because of the domed lid (and no ashtray) the portions can get mixed up between the dividers because they're not tall enough.

This one keeps the portions in their allotted quarters so that I can tell which is which (and keeps the tastes apart in case I have something like Gotlandsnus Green in the random quarter).

I'm using a cut up plastic credit card type thing for the divider by the way - cardboard soaks up the juice from the portions but cardboard wrapped in tinfoil works okay.

I've got some mild ocd going on. I keep 4 tins in rotation at any given time. I don't have a set order to which ones I use, but I'm obsessed with keeping the tins somewhat equal. Say I take a tin of GR with me to work, I'll switch to something else in the evening and then take something different with me the following day, just to keep my quantities in balance.

Kit, your idea is awesome! Does the flavors really keep separated good? I use the astray lid to carry a couple wintergreen for occasion, but I would love to store 4 different inside the can.
