Well curiosity killed the cat. After being a big fan of Dip and Ciggarttes, I thought I might give snuff a try (sniffing tobacco), I mean I thought how bad could it be? So 6.65$ later here I am with a can of copenhagen snuff. I do a little bump and JESUS i mean JESUS :!: that burns!! After the 4 minutes of searing pain like I just snorted tobacso sauce I did a big inhale through my nose so it all went down my throat,, and WOW that some grimey ass drip... like swallowing dip. Im now stuck with a can : / atleast I can use it as dip

So mainly my question is does anyone actually enjoy snuff? Do you get over the burn and horrible drip?

on another note i need a ciggarette.

copenhagen snuff is american snuff meant to be put in your lip. It is moist and I cringed  when I imagined sniffing it, that drip must have been god awful.

Wait.... I guess your right  , in an attempt to google copenhagen fine cut, I could only see pictures of copenhagen snuff.

So i guess i snorted dip

haha I feel like a dumbass

So i guess even when it says snuff in the US, its dip?

and where can i buy actual snuff?

As silly as that might seem, it seems like I pretty common mistake. When I didn't know what a tin of snuff looked like and wanted to try it, I bought a tin of Cope in error. Hell, when I asked at the local tobacconist if they carried nasal snuff, the clerk pointed me to Redman Snuff, Cope Snuff, and I believe Longhorn. Truth is, not many people know what snuff is any more, seeing as there are no prominent users (to my knowledge) that figure in to the celebrity world the US obsesses with.

There are even some on Snuffhouse where people have deliberately done it as nasal snuff.

My grandmother actually dips nasal snuff! I came close to turning her on to some Ettan while she was at my house this past weekend, but chickened out......

Maybe a crazy thought but what about drying out some loose snus, working it to a finer consistency with a mortar and snuffing that?

My grandmother dipped garrett snuff. A lot of people used to. She just scooped it into her mouth.

Reading the history of Swedish snus, it actually started out as a nasal snuff, and was dry.

              Dry Snuff

Garrett and Rooster and other are meant to be dipped. They are bone dry. Some are sweet and others plain. I have heard of people snorting them but they hurt. The snuffs from england Frieburg and treyer, wilsons,
Sam Gawaiths, Gawaith and Hogarth are nasal snuffs. They come in various scents (princess dark my favorite) They also come in various grinds Fine, medium , course. Some are moist. It is best to start with a medium moist snuff. Some pack a wallop nico wise. Also keep them tightly closed.............................There is a snuff called Togue which is rather good and another favorite of I think everyone is McCrystals. Try thier reg. Gooooood stuff. (or snuff)

I bet if you dried and milled Copenhagen it would be an ok nasal. Coarse and moist though...OW!

The American scotches and sweets can go either way but I enjoy them as a snuff much more than as a dip. Rooster is probably my favorite American snuff.

I was actually reading on another forum that some will dip a toothpick or something like that in some nasal snuff so it does get taken orally. So I guess that rubbing a little of it on your gums would give the same outcome? That's why my first order from Toque was Espresso, Vanilla, Raspberry, and Chocolate. Figured they couldn't taste too bad and could be my "gum snus" if I ended up not liking snuffing up the nose :P

When I bought Garrett for the first time, I couldn't handle sniffing it.......I ended up wetting my finger, dipping it in the tin, poking it in my nose and wiping it around the inside of my nostril. Not glamorous, but it sort of did the trick. :P

I dipped the Scotch snuffs a few times, I just dumped some in my bottom gum. It wasn't bad, but was kinda messy, but so is any dip. I did take some the other day, and add a little water, and it made like a dough, and I formed a pris and stuck in my top gum, and it held together fine, and I felt an effect, but it didn't taste very good, wasn't "bad" either. A sweet scotch might be better.
