Yes, Both Northerner and Buysnus ship via regular mail (will ship UPS too if you want). You will see a choice called Swiss Post, that is what you want. Goes via Swiss Post from the factory straight to the airport. Put on a plane. Lands in NYC, snus goes through customs, then picked up here by the USPS.

tom502, yes, for a brand newbie, the lack of full choices at Getsnus isn't a huge issue. But you must know you are simply missing out on some of the best snus out there, at least IMHO. My two most favorites, Retro white and the new Camel White, aren't carried, as well as my favorite flavored snus, LD Black.

I only start to get cranky when I see newbies wedded to Getsnus. They are simply missing out on so much snus they may love.

BTW, I use snus exactly opposite you. I have always pushed mine way back. Just seems more comfortable and natural for me, but may be reason I so highly favor whites. They don't juice up badly, even when pushed all the way back

Being a rookie myself, I tried a method of not really deciding on what I liked the most, but ordering for what I feel like ordering. At first I hated V2 because of the grind, now it's not so bad once I got used to it. Try everything that sounds appetizing to you. Getsnus has most of what I like, everything but LD, Granit,Goteborgs. If you find you like what you can't get in two days, order a roll of each and freeze'em. Ordering and shipping a few cans will put the wallet in the emergency room in a hurry.

You might like General Dry Mini Mint. It seems to be a good "starter" snus, as the salt isn't overwhelming and it keeps its flavor for a few hours.

As for shipping.....stay far away from UPS so you don't get hammered with fees. Swedish Post works fine. I'm in NJ and my orders from Northerner and BuySnus.com arrive in about 7 days.

Arcaed, as a former Skoal dipper, snus is really nothing like dip. And no, it will not tear up like lip like dip does.

I would recommend staying away from the Offroad Wintergreen longcut. I thought it would be like dip, and I was very disappointed.

Snus is a lot more subtle than dip, or the snus Camel is selling in the states. The Swedish snus Camel is ok, but has almost nothing in common with what they are selling here. In fact, I am pretty sure it is not even the same company. I think they just have the rights to the name or something like that. Not sure, but that doesn't really matter. My point is, don't expect anything similar.

Any portions by General is a good starting point. If you want los, I highly recommend Skruf Stark...has a good nic hit and a very smooth taste. Los is also not like dip...once it is in, you don't play with it with your tongue like you would with dip.

I guess what I am getting at is, you will most likely enjoy Swedish snus, but for me, it was a totally different experience. I'm glad I made the switch from dip a year ago.

There is actually an awesome thread here about dippers switching to snus if you look for it.

Oh, and if you ever tried stuff like Skoal Peach, Apple, or Cherry and didn't like it, I recommend staying away from the fuity flavored snus. The snus is not as "candy" like.

Im probably going against the norm here, but I would suggest general loose. Its not bitter like the portions and tastes great.

While I guess I'm still a newbie, lxskllr and sagedil seem to have great advice always. I typically never post but I figured these two are finally deserved some credit for guiding my snus journey. I don't think if you follow their lead you can go wrong.

Please understand, I am guessing that covetousjew recently suffered some type of brain trauma as he continues to Spam snuson with his posts extolling how wonderful level is.

It's NOT. Most all of us who have been here a long time will all agree that it is the WORST snus made, tastes worse than dirt.

covetousjew likes level. And that is OK, we all have our strange quirks. But please remember, Level is often quoted by *most* as the worst snus they ever had.
