    Los for noobs.

So I want to try Los. I have never dipped in my life, and I'm a complete noob. In your guys opinion what is the easiest los to start out with? I will def. be getting a prismaster to use at first. I want something that will hold together real well, so I can try to get the hand of it. Thank you.

Well, my 1st los was Grov Los, and it was great. held up great, but I can say the same for Ettan Los, Odens Los, and Offroad Cranberry Los. They all held up fine to me. I find the Prismaster works well too, but if packed full, is too much. It's like a mini Butterfinger bar. So I hold the little thumb lever about half way, and that makes the pris about the size of a regular portion. I pack it tight, as in time it softens up.

When I was brand new, Skruff Stark worked very well for me too.

Roda Lackett was the last los I handbaked, it was a piece of cake it's so finely ground! Like mud. I haven't tried it yet, but Gotlandssnus looks pretty easy to handbake as well.

I got 3 cans this last time LD, GES, and Skruf and they are all easy to handbake. The prismaster and icetool really aren't necessary, it's more for convenience sake. I'm finding that I prefer handbaking.

I think it's more imporatnt to find one that tastes good.

Well for taste, I like mainly General and Roda.

I will get to try out PrimaFint for myself. I just finished placing my first order with BuySnus.

                1 can Granit lös
                1 can GrovSnus lös
                1 can PrimaFint lös
                1 roll LD lös
                1 can freebie snus (?)

Total through Buysnus was $38.84 (Northerner was $42.95)

The only thing Northerner was cheaper on was shipping and that's because Northerner is using SwissPost now.

Definitely let me know what you think of the Prima Fint.

As always, Sage wants to make sure his recommendations are still working for folks.

skruf stark holds together well as does offroad original. the phantom blue holds together well as does the oden's es. imo.

Skruf Stark for flavor and baking. Never had any problems with that los, and I love the taste. Ettan is a good baker, though messy, and very bland flavor. Gote Rape is good too.

Not sure how I feel about the Prima Flint....bakes well enough though.

Well, I think I'm ready to take the plunge into loose snus. The order that's on its way here from Northerner has one can of Grov Los included. We'll see how it goes.

I finally got around to trying prima fint recently, and while I find it to be very bland and boring taste-wise, its texture is such that you could hand bake a nice pris behind your back. Its great for either practicing or for the inexperienced, but IMHO the flavor or lack thereof renders it almost worthless. For bold flavor and great texture, I suggest Skruf. That and odens es are my favorites. GES is pretty damn good too. And like tom said, grov los is a must.

EDIT: I take it back about the Prima. I just put a big, quickly baked pris in to enjoy with my can of cheap shitbeer and it's definitely not "almost worthless". It's very unique and subtle actually, in both grind and taste -- like clay on both counts but not a bad thing in terms of flavor. Sometimes I really run my mouth lol. I'm fairly quiet in real life.

Easiest los? Roda Lacket. You won't even need the prismaster for that one.

It gets slippery quick, though.....that might be a problem if you don't have a nice "pocket" built up from portions yet.

Same boat here...4 cans of loose and only tried packing by hand so far once...new order going into getsnus today so threw in a prismaster to train me. Hand pack not so good for me...had the redneck smile. May have to hire a personal prisspacker....that didn't sound right for some reason.
