out of curiosity, id like to hear how you fellow losers (i dont know how to make the o with an umlaut, read as loosers) remove your prises. ive just been doing the ol scoop and rinse. but im starting to feel like maybe i could get it all with my tongue and forgo the rinse. i dont know, maybe its a dumb question, enlighten me.

I usually scoop and rinse. If it doesnt all come out at once, and i'm feeling especially lazy, I will lick a napkin. Or just swallow the leftover bits.

Alt-numpad 148 or Alt-numpad 0246 gives you ö

I just pull it down with my tongue and spit it out, no rinsing.

damn, im on a numpadless laptop.

you dont end up with bits between your teeth? i imagine it might not be as bad with coarser grind. all ive opened up so far is RL and ettan. i have general and GES also, are they as finely ground? im really trying to finish up this rl can so i can open up my general, i dont want 3 open cans of los drying up.

I usually have a pris in. So, there is usually tobacco between my teeth. I don't check a mirror.

It's another step, but you can turn on numlock on the laptop, and it reassigns some of the alpha keys to a number keyboard.

I may get some small bits in my teeth, I really don't look that much. I know it doesn't get caked in or anything.

If I use los, I always wrap it in cheesecloth like I mention in one of my previous posts. Very easy to remove that way!

why not just use portions then?

If you happen to be on a mac, all it takes is "apple key" + U, then type whatever letter you are umlauting. Los removal is always quite messy for me, and I use it all the time. I think its because I'm always drinking something with it, who knows. If I care, I need a mirror and I even have a nasty "los brush" toothbrush for fast clean-up at home. If I don't care, I just swipe and swish with some beer But yeah, I considered starting a thread yesterday wondering why it's so messy for me. But I settled on the fact that I constantly drink something, and I mess with it, and I just don't really care how messy it is. I love it.

I am no expert, but I stick my finger at the rear of the pris and pull it out. I usually get most of it in one shot.

why not just use portions then?

I do use portions, but there are some brands that I like the los better than the portion equivilent, such as Offroad Wintergreen and Cranberry los. Both of those are MUCH better in los than in portions, and the single layer of cheesecloth just holds it together for you and doesn't affect the taste or the feel of it.

Most of the time:

Grab the opposite ends of the pris with your thumb and index finger and slightly squeeze. Once the prilla is in between your thumb and index finger, gently pull the tobacco out and throw it into the nearest trash receptacle or toilet.

If there are any bits of tobacco left in your mouth, swallow. If there is an excessive amount, swish saliva around your mouth and spit!

Some of the time:

Use the same method above, except with a napkin in your hand.

I just slide my lip above the pris, and push it out with lip. No fingers involved, and I rarely have any lös bits left over.

Another way to type ö, č, or ţ is to install a different keyboard layout. Personally, I use the Norwegian keyboard layout. All the letter are in the same location, but some of the other symbols get switched around. My keys no longer type what's on them sometimes, but I find that a small price to pay in order to type numerous characters without having to go to the character map. ¥$¢£€ are all very convenient for me now, along with some lesser used ones, like ¤.
