There's a graph somewhere... I should find it, lazy this morning, sry. But cigarette smoke gives you a huge "spike" of nicotine--the downside is that it tails off quickly. With snus, it never spikes nearly as high, but it levels off much more gradually and stays in your system a lot longer.

I wonder if the many ppl who snuff aren't doing it partly to get a little "spike", or if it's just a flavor thing? I admit I haven't followed the snuff threads enough to know. Snus and the rest of my life takes up enough of my time, but snuff on, brothers & sisters!

Thanks, maybe I should try to cut down on my snus use.

The whole article is a good read, but here is the part that answers your question.

...Because the blood from the lungs reaches the brain very rapidly, a smoker’s brain is exposed to extremely high nicotine levels within seconds after the first puff. Because of this, many researchers have concluded that cigarettes are the most addictive nicotine delivery device. In a snus user, nicotine is absorbed to the blood through the oral mucous membranes. The blood here needs to go through the entire circulatory system before it can reach the brain so the brain is never exposed to the same high nicotine levels as among smokers. ...

Try Catch Violet. It kinda tastes lavender.
I tried a tin of the Catch Violet, but the portions seemed to fall apart on me within an hour. I like to try to get about 2 hours out, to help minimize my usage throughout the day.

There is a user on here (sorry, I can't for the life of me remember who it is) who tears their portions in half. This could work quite well if you love the flavor of your sterks but don't want the high nicotine tolerance. It'd be like getting 2 strong minis out of every portion, effectively lowering your nic tolerance AND saving you money! 48 minis per can!

I would search for the thread for the method but my computer seems to be on the fritz today and I have to go help cook Thanksgiving dinner But the way this person tore them was in such a way that none of the tobacco ever fell out of the portion.
