Names for snus

If you want to be a cool snusare you can't refer to it as
portions and loose snus

You gotta call the portions=påsar (bags) and the loose=bak (bake)
Example:

"Bjuder du på en bak eller?" meaning "Would you share a bake or?"
"Har du en påse eller?" meaning "Do you have a bag or?"
Or the most common one
"Ska du ha dig en jävel eller?" meaning "Should you have yourself a bastard or?"

Don't aske me about the "or", it's the most overabused word in the swedish language and it totally does not make sense at all really but everyone uses it. It's weird to explain.

I think us Yankees and some of our "other than Swedish" European bretheren are doing quite well in using terms like "pris" and "prilla". Now, if we all lived in Sweden....we'd all be really happy because we could get snus without any wait or worry and speak how you think we should speak.

I myself don't speak, read, or write in any lanuage other than English. So, I don't consider myself less than a "cool snusare" because I can't say (especially to folks here in the U.S. who don't even know what snus is)...

Yeah i use my own regional dialect to refer to it. A 'pinch', 'chew' or 'pouch'. It all means the same thing. They're only words.

I seem to remember someone here mentioning "paska" and "nuusku" I think. I especially liked "paska" which IIRC means "shit".

Some people here even call my snus 'snuff' (with a german pronunciation, that sounds like 'snoof') or call me a 'dipper'. I absolutely don't mind!

In norway we have several names for snus: Snæss(slang for snus), nebb(because some people look like they have a birds beak when they meke a too big pris, beta(a bite), baug(the front bottom of a boat, almost like nebb), tønne(a barrel). These names for snus is mostly used in the younger group of snus users between 16 and 25.

"Nuuska" is the excact translation for "snus" but the most common words (amongst young people) are for example - "biitti", "nölli", "spaddu" and "nuke".

I personally prefer "paska". which is just plainly shit in English. Why do I prefer "paska" over "pussi"=bags? Well simply 'cause "paska" doesnt "kuse" Which means: "The shit won't piss". Like the bags "portions" eventually do. Logical Finnis dialect dont u agree .
