    Snus and red wine

I got me a bottle of Barefoot Pinot Noir (it was on sell at Target, I know it's a cheap wine anyway!) and was wondering if you guys have any recommendations for snus that goes well with Noir.

The flavor pairings are usually for something dark and earthy. So probably something smokey, or a kanel, or something flavored with a dark berry. I'd stay away from anything citrusy or minty. Strong tobacco flavor should also be good. Goes great with a maduro.

Great response. Maybe GR#2. Or I might have to crack open my Ettan Los.

Barefoot isn't too bad but there are some other nice pinots that are cheap. Next time try Mondavi, Beringer, or Meridian. All under $10 I think.

I like Barefoot wine. Roda Lacket or Skruf is a nice combination from my point of view. Definitely stay away from anything with mint in it!!

I like Goatrape with the lighter, brighter pinots (like Barefoot and Mondavi). Yay for juniper.

            --K, total pinotwhore

P.S. Cheap isn't necessarily bad. The best wine to ever touch my lips was an '04 Casa Viva Pinot I picked up on clearance for a whopping $4. After one glass, I ran back to the store and bought them out... sadly, more recent vintages left me unimpressed.

Another cheap one that my wife buys a lot is Mirassou.

I am drinking Fat bastard Pinot Noir and snusing Grov right now. I had such a bad day at work that I drank down the first glass like it was Welches grape juice and it is all working out pretty well for me now.

I just got out of the hot tub where I was enjoying a Sebeka shiraz and a Gurkha Signature ’101’ Maduro.

Let’s see….. I think a bottle of Barefoot deserves nothing less than Level.

Vegan just hold your nose and funnel half the bottle, then it wont matter what snus you choose

Wine can surprise you. Some times you can get a good bottle for less than $10 bucks, or a bottle of booty water for $70. Macaroni Grill chianti is definitely worth trying. it's like $7 a liter here. All the Fat Bastards I have tried have been good. Louis Jadot beaujolais villages burgandy is my fav right now. Although I do dig Jadot Chardonnay as well. Chardonnay not so good with tobacco.

One of my favorites is a good bergamot/citrus tasting snus and a Florida Citrus Wine. They pair really well.

Orange Sunshine is a great wine, and it goes quite well with snus with a citrus flavor.

                          Hi all.
Have some information on second glass of red wine.
News wise. One drink of either red wine or alcohol slightly benefits the heart and blood vessels, but the positive effects on specific biological markers disappear with two drinks, say researchers at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre of the Toronto General Hospital.
In a study entitled “Dose-related effects of red wine and alcohol on hydrodynamics, sympathetic nerve activity, and arterial diameter”, published in the February edition of the American Journal of Physiology, Heart and Circulatory Physiology, researchers conducted a real-time study of thirteen volunteers to determine whether a red wine with a verified high Polyphemus content differs from alcohol in its effects on specific markers associated with a greater risk of high blood pressure, coronary artery disease and heart failure.

Man, I ONLY drink wines with a high Polyphemus content! (WTH is Polyphemus content? Cyclops sediment?)

Great cheap wines are always out there. I'm still working on the fourth case of a 2002 Italian merlot branded Danzante that Mondavi dumped on the market three years ago at a totally inexplicable $3 a bottle. I sampled two bottles 'cause I'm a sucker for plausible-looking rivals to Two Buck Chuck, and ran back to the supermarket to buy them out of the stuff.

For two or three dollars more, there's always Bulls Blood of Eger -- big hit with my kids' fantasy-reading gamer friends. (Hungarian and Romanian reds are always worth scouting out for bargains.) Always.

The holidays will be spent with a 2005 Chambourcin from local MO winery Augusta. At $5.85 a bottle (case rate) I'm splurging, but I've been a fan of Chambourcin and other All-American varieties ever since that H.S. class reunion (Waterloo IL H.S. Class of '70 -- Official Flower: The Black Rose. Official Motto: "If not now, when?") at Potsie's (WHS '70, yeah of course he became a pharmacist) winery, where the Chambourcin flowed like water and my wife and I got hit on by a couple of swingers. (They let us drive their 'Vette around the country roads for an hour! Cool! Then back to the Vinyards of Potsie! Much frolicking, but not too much more, sorry.)

Uh. Oh yeah... What snus goes with red wine? Something strong but not too highly flavored, maybe kinda peppery. Nick and Johnny's.
