The only solution that I know of in Finland is from the ferry.

    http://www.snuscentral.org/snusnus/a...-a-primer.html

Finland: The great mystery. The anecdotal consumption is 20m cans per year, the same as Norway. It's illegal to sell snus there, but not to use it. All of the snus consumed in Finland comes either out of duty free product sold on Swedish ferries in international waters or in Gardermoen airport in Oslo, Norway, or from the Swedish border town of Haperanda. There is also a market for loose, the fave in Finland, which is served by border and duty free shops in Russia (St. Petersburg and Vyborg (right on the border). The EU keeps slapping Helsinki's hand, especially since they tried to hide a Finnish island, Aland, from Brussels, in 2006. Finnish-flagged ferries would hit Aland, and sell snus duty free, and claim exemption from the EU ban.

Losing the case, the ferries were re-flagged as Swedish. Finland shares in the snus tradition of the region, due to its long tradition as a Swedish neighbor and subject. Unlike Sweden, they did not apply for the 1994 exemption for the EU snus ban. I heard Aland once even had a snus factory, and Swedish is still an official language in Finland. Someone dropped a ball. Snus is now a major "under the counter" product in Finland, and because cigarettes are not allowed to be displayed, snus has a rumored popularity with the underage, because it's sold from friend to friend, or invisibly and illegally in shops. Sweden was blamed by Finland for poor regulation of snus sales across its borders in December 2008,and proposed a ban on Ferry sales, in my opinion, to impress Brussels. Yay, Finland. Get a Health Minister.
The other solution is learn to make your own. It's not that hard. 8)

We have a solution on this problem.

It is like this you can order snus on but you have to pay a taxes to the Finnish Goverment.

The only way you can skip this tax is if you come and pick up your snus by yourself at the store or if you contact a transport company how can pick it up at the store and ship it to you.

So you have to pay for the snus in the shop..
Then you need to pay for the shipping cost to the transport company.

This is not smooth but the only way to get it if you want to follow the law.

( excuse me for my bad english)

I think that you should contact someone that knows russian community in your city or ask on some internet forum of Russians in Finland. In Russia they sell snus much cheaper than EU and I know they smuggle to Finland too.

We also have a border with Russia and thanks to that it is possible to buy smuggled cigarettes 50% cheaper than these with taxes imposed by EU commies.

          Haperanda

The major snus companies pay lots of attention to sales out of key accounts in Haperanda, especially, I am told to certain gas stations there, which push massive volumes into Finland as the city is located on both sides of the border.

Depending on where you are in Finland, this may be a better option if you can't get to Helsinki and ride a Swedish ferry.

As for asking around for Russians, that's a good idea as well. I was in Russia yesterday, and a pack of Marlboro is $1.50, and a pack of LD (cigarettes) is 35 cents (US). They smuggle EVERYTHING, and you can bet with your tobacco prices in Finland, the product is coming across.

I am curious about snus in Denmark. Is it illegal to purchase it there, even though its manufactured there??

Only lös snus is allowed to be sold, no portions. Portions can be imported, but counter sales are lös only.

I'd be REALLY interested to hear the rationale behind that law.

That is weird. Maybe they think it will appeal to the children?

I don't live there of course, but I'm guessing they really wanted to ban it all, but conceded on lös snus due to tradition. That keeps the old timers happy, and theoretically keeps newbies from snusing

But... it's the same product exactly, only packaged differently. So some danish company could sell "mini teabags" similar to pre-made cigarette rolls... and then people who want portion snus in Denmark would buy Los and portion it themselves and... aaaargh. It's so daft.

I read on another thread or forum somewhere that the ban is because snus delivers too much nicotine per gram.
so i guess lossnusers could argue that they only use a half a gram or less.

initially i thought maybe there was a ban on snus in europe because of littered portions everywhere.. once theyve gotten all good and juicy they make excellent spit wads that stick to just about anything you spit them at, or throw... i can just imagine walking down a street and seeing used snus pouches stuck to cars and windows and just about everything else!
