How to avoid a portion from running

When I do a portion, my spit production increases heavily, and it mixes itself together with the snus, which tastes like hell. Any ideas how to avoid this?

I'm assuming you're using it in the upper lip here... Try keeping it very forward in your mouth. When it's very forward, and tight against your lip, it doesn't juice as much. As you move it towards the back of your mouth, it tends to get juicier.

Thanks for the answer. Also, as I just started snusing, it shows really well. I don't want my dad to catch me. Will it show less as it creates a "snus-hole" and I can hide it under my lips?

Everything will stretch out, and they'll get less noticeable with time. *Also, you'll get used to the nicotine, and will probably start enjoying the juice.

*Getting used to the nicotine... I would strongly encourage you not to start a nicotine habit if you don't already have one. Most people are better off without tobacco, and in any case, the future of snus in the USA is uncertain. What if you get addicted to nicotine, but can't get snus... It could end up being a pathway to cigarettes, and you should avoid them at all costs. It doesn't seem like a big deal when you start because your body's resilient, but the cigarettes grind away at it over time, and it really wears you out.

Anyway, that's my small lecture :^D Do what you want, but keep in mind that things aren't as rosy as they seem when you're in your teens :^)

Yeah, I'm well aware of the consequences of snusing. But I am Norwegian where Snus is legal, and I have friends who are able to buy it. Compared to smoking, snus doesn't do any damage at all, and nicotine kick is extremely fun. Even if I am still immature and change opinion as I grow, I act based on my current maturity.

Good enough... Don't forget the expense though. Snus is almost free here in the USA. In Norway, everything costs too much :^D A full blown snus habit, especially the way Scandinavians tend to use it, isn't a inconsequential expense. A tin a day is about average, no? At €8 per day, the costs add up quick.

It varies a lot from person to person. A lot of people use snus when they have a lot of homework, and then a tin dissapears in a couple of hours. In my case, I might have it a week.

are you not old enough to buy snus?

If so, stop it right now. No one here should be giving advice to minors on how best to use a tobacco product.

I ask because you just said "my friends can buy it", which to me says "i am not old enough to"

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but if you are not old enough to purchase snus, you shouldn't be using it.

and as others here have said, it's best to not start a tobacco habit when you are not addicted to nicotine.

All that said, I imagine your response will be similar to what mine would have been when I started smoking. I will understand if you tell me where I should go.

                All the best-
                Rob

wow, how self righteous did my last post seem huh?!

sorry about that Norwegian Kid. It's your life and you will and should do what you feel is right.

Just remember, nicotine is extremely addictive and very hard to quit.

I didn't mean to sound like such a jerk.

Hey Rob, you are not a jerk. Anyone that is not already adddicted to nicotine that wants to start using snus or any other tobacco product is quite simply an idiot. nuff said

When I started using tobacco about 45 years ago there was no info about the negative health effects. It was considered a safe product. Today, with all the info available about the negative health effects with using tobacco one would have to be an idiot to start using it.

Strong words. I use it because I like the effect nicotine gives me. On top of that, in hard emotional times it is a good way to simply relax. I am aware of the consequences - I simply choose to suffer through them in order to achieve the positive effects of snus. I'm not an idiot, that choice is not enough to determine that.

Rob, everything you said were right. It has nothing with being a jerk to do. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Remember when the flintstones and bugs bunny were big on selling tobacco?

No it seems like you're not aware of the consequences. Because if you were you'd easily find alot of other things far healthier and cheaper to substitute your so called "stressful day" and sadness with. Why spend all the money and face possible health risks for something that truly has ZERO positive characteristics aside from making the already addicted people less pissed off of the world whenever I don't have one?
