    Frozen Snus

I opened a can that has been in the freezer for 9 months and noticed a strange thing. It looked like frozen water in the bottom of the can. All the portions were dried out, but the can was still sealed. Any one seen this or did i just get a defective can? Cans are still sealed but not in a freezer bag or anything, just in the wrapper that rolls come in.

When I take a can out of the freezer, I always have done so the night before, so the next day is when I open it, so no, never experienced that. I have had some dried out portions, I layed them all on a flat pan, and used a water sprayer and sprayed them, turned them over, repeat, and dumped them back in the can, usually let that sit a day, and it was fine, just be careful to not over/under spray them. If you do it.

In my years I'd had this happen a couple times. I freeze them with the catch lid upwards and thaw them in the fridge with the catch lid downwards. Same with los too, lid up when froze dip down when thawing.

EDIT: And if its dry when I take them out of the fridge after thawing (portions and los, white is dry anyways) I fill the lid up with waterso it overfills and then pour it out and put lid back on. You'll have beads of water still stuck to the lid and thats good enough to moisten it back up to how I like it.

Thanks, maybe a bad can as I have many more cans in the freezer and have never seen that before, even from open ones in there.

I have been using for 3 years, always freeze my snus, never in a zip lock bag or anything. Have had that happen maybe once, twice at the most in 3 years. So yes, possible bad can, but VERY rare.

I do think freezing effects the quality of regular portions a little bit. Never noticed it with whites or loose but the portion material of regulars seem to get a bit mushier after freezing. Still fine but not quite as good as fresh. I place pretty big orders and I have stopped freezing regulars and they are fine coming out of the refridgerator.

I've never had that happen, but I generally thaw my snus in the fridge overnight. Like most things in life, it's best to avoid extremes. Gradual changes usually yield the best results.
