it takes practice. There are many factors that determine how well a prilla stay together. eg. how tight you compress it. the position in your mouth etc. Lower decking any kind of snus is more likely to cause a mudslide. When you have been snusing for a while a little pocket forms in your upper lip and snus just seems to sit there perfectly.Snus and Dip Video Reviews

I prefer the lower lip method too. Not just for ease of use, but also for aesthetics. Not that it matters, but people see a slight bulge in your lower lip and pretty much know what's up. A bulge in your upper lip just looks like you got into a fight or something is wrong with your lip, in my opinion anyway. I have yet to find a normal sized portion that doesn't make it appear inflamed either. lol
It's all about preference personally. For me, the lower lip is just easier to place with my tongue and easier to release to spit out when I'm done.

My gums are the weakest right up front on the bottom, so when I dip or chew, I always put it on the side. My father is missing his two front teeth on the bottom, and I asked him what happened and he said they just came out, he only smoked, and still does. When I 1st tried dip, it was Copenhagen Snuff, and being new to dip, I put it right in front bottom, and it worked fine, and I suspect maybe loose snus might too, but that's a gum area of concern(even before I did oral tobak) and so I avoid that area.

I used to dip fine cut so I have no problem putting a pinch of snus in the lower deck. I never spit with dip and can keep my snus mud free down back near my molars. I really don't put anything front and center lower deck as I have some recession from dip and I don't need any more.
I also do it when around groups of dippers and don't want to go into the snus speech.....

For me I find loose easier and more enjoyable in the bottom lip.
By mistake I brought a can of loose to work instead of portion and I have to yell a lot cause it is a noisy environment and upper decking was making a mess.
So I tried in the lower lip, like a good ole boy, and that did the trick.
I also think the flavor is much better and no real difference with the nic hit.
Now portions I much prefer up top for whatever reason.

I find the nic to hit quicker this way (due to the loser pack and more saliva)
I also find the flavor to be enhanced (for the very same reasons above). Thus when ever I try a new los it always goes in the lower lip first.
The only thing I have noticed is that you do lose more with each spit than you do with dip. Thus snus does not last as long in the lower lip as dip will (but the difference- though noticeable- is not that drastic).
I'd guess that 1/5 of all my snussing is lower deck.

I like loose in the lower and so far it works great!
I cannot do some loose in the upper, so far only Goteborgs and General work well in the upper for me. I cannot do Ettan in the upper deck, but a hillbilly pinch in the lower works wonders when the urge to dip strikes me.
I am fairly new to Snus, and just started loose a week or so ago. I do find the urge to dip on occasion, so I tried Loose and it works great to fill this need.
The loose seems to last just as long in the lower as it does in the upper for me, so I say go for it!
In the lower I don't have the need to spit at all so it stays together pretty well for me. I also enjoy portions in the upper, and then in the lower to finish the flavor. Sometimes at work I find myself covered in hydraulic fluid(aircraft mechanic) so I can't exactly take them out as I wish with my fingers, so I just move 'em around with my tongue to different spots. I only use loose at home, and portions at work or when I leave my house.
Your mileage may vary.

I always snus in the upper deck. I guess it has to do with comfort, habit, and that I was never a dipper before I was a snusser (I was an ex-smoker).Words of Wisdom

i do it both ways. mostly on the top but some on the bottom. i was never a full time dipper but when i was younger i did it some. when i started snusing it was more natural on bottom than on top. i wanted to use it on top because it's easier for me to hide so i kept on until the top seems natural. i still use it on the bottom a couple of times a day. mostly i use it on bottom some to keep my top gum from getting sore. i throw in a few portions and those things make my gums sore after a few.
