Can a tin be refrozen without damage?

can snus be refrozen? Example: I open a tin & I get tired of it before I finish. Can I stick it back into the freeze since I won't want it for a while. How many times can this be done? Thanks!

You can refreeze with no problems. I can't say how many times but you will be fine until it drys out, so it depends on how long you keep it out of the freezer.

I have found that if you freeze your snus you can only do it once without screwing up the taste of it. Once it is open, bacteria will start to break it down no matter what you do. So, if it is open, just put it in the fridge instead of the freezer. I switch up my snus a lot so there are always plenty of open cans in the fridge and the unopened cans in the freezer.

You will also notice that keeping it in your front pocket will warm it up and change the taste of it. Keep it cool.

      Hitlary stinks.

I have to concur with that. I once thought freezing/thawing wouldn't make a difference (after I thought it did, like beer), then I realized that it DOES. It certainly changes the freshness, basically flattens the taste. Some snus it doesn't matter much. But I had a couple of Gotlands cans go flat, which sucks, because gotlands is great snus. just a little tempermental on the freezing. Goteborgs Rape certainly loses it's bite as well. I think freezing it after you receive it in the cold weather doesn't do it any harm of course, like storm says not to open it before putting it in the freezer. For as long as I've been using snus (since last April) or so till recently I've changed my previous habit of thawing from freezer, using, and putting back in freezer.. now put my open cans in the fridge. I thought having it in the fridge would ruin the freshness too if I didn't use it quickly enough...we'll see.

I need to make another massive-stock order soon before the weather warms up again. I don't want to risk cooked snus in the summer.

I have never lost taste from a snus just being in the freezer. I store all my snus there except when I take one out to carry on me without any problems. This may be more of an issue to recently quit smokers that need that extra kick of flavor??

Not sure. I rarely put them in the freezer, only the fridge. So, I took a new can of skruf portions and a new can of skruf los in the fridge and will document the deterioration of it as I thaw and freeze it.

I take really good care of my cigars. I would think the same applied to snus. Just like vegetables or meat that you consume. The ice crystals that form are sure to decompose the organic materials in your snus. You wouldn't want to re freeze food so who knows...

            Peace!
