Fair enough, but fact is nicotine has proven to be medicinal.
True, but I'm not sure that would convince me to smoke again, especially now that I can get my nicotine in less harmful and more palatable ways(Thank you, Sweden!!!!)
When you look at it again, too, I wonder if the benefits are offset at all by the risks specific to smoking, especially lung cancer and emphysema? There's no pleasant way to die, really, but if you've ever seen someone dying of either of these, they're really a pretty horrible way to go.
I find myself in the same situation now as ASVM was last month and have read this thread with great interest. I have ordered a try out box of portions from Northern and it should arrive Monday. We will see how it goes from there.
I have used snus on occasion during the last couple of years but until recently had never considered using it as means of getting off cigarettes. For the last few months I have been exclusively using snus and only have had a cigarette on a couple of occasions. The best thing I can report is that the last cigarette I had tasted horrible and I noticed how quickly the nicotine rush tapered off despite being instantly gratifying. I have experienced the hunger symptoms you spoke of but found I don't need much food to sate it. I have actually lost weight since replacing cigarettes with snus. A good female friend of mine who despises chewing tobacco converted to snusing with mini-portions and has nearly quit smoking for good. Although I have yet to try it I was wondering if you have looked into the new Mocca Plus line. Apparently they are mini-portions with a nicotine content that is more-or-less equivalent to a regular sized portion. Although no one has ever noticed when I have been using standard-sized portions I sometimes find that when I smile my lip tends to make it a little crooked.
(to thread starter)
I guess this is to late, but as a heavy smoker you are, you should have gone for the stronger brands right away. N&J, Skruf Stark or Strong cut is what you need. There's not enough "power" in the package you ordered.
