Good way to help boost Skoal's snus sales, although I personally could care less if both were ultimate failures. I shudder now when I look at the can of smooth mint! Yuck!

If the Skoal ones caught on they might make a straight flavor. I'd try that for sure. I mean would it be that hard to make it taste like a straight dip? That would be a winner for me.

I guess it's very hard to mimic the natural flavors that result from the smoke-curing and fermentation. But yes, that's something that the snus-producers should indeed try.

If they made straight it wouldn't be half bad, but the smooth mint and regular mint is better to just try lower lip and use it like dip (without spitting)

I picked up both last night to try, and the Mint was okay. The Smooth Mint is terrible. The portions themselves are uncomfortably large. Almost too big to fit in the upper lip.

This is probably the closest American "snus" has gotten to real Swedish snus. It's still a long ways off, but still.

You don't want a "straight" flavor snus, you want a "natural" flavor snus. Straight is it's own flavor, sometimes kinda good, sometimes not, but to me, it's a weird flavor of I don't know. But Natural is the more seasoned tobacco flavor.
