    Buysnus portion mix roll

Hey, new snus user here (well Swedish anyway), came by way of cigarettes to American snuff to Camel Snus, then when it was pulled from a couple local stores stumbled upon this forum while looking for snus information. Ordered from buysnus a couple weeks ago, and snus is the BEST. Better flavor, better price, better product all around.

I thought some other newer users might like to know what to expect in the buysnus mix rolls (as long as what I received was typical). I thought it was a decent intro to snus types and price ranges, received about $28 worth of snus for $20.29; but anyway here is what I received - I ordered 2 rolls and before I could think of this till they were all mixed up so it is a list of 20 cans: Goteborg Rape #2, General (1 original 2 white), LD (white and gold), Roda Lacket, Skruf original, Kronan (white and original), Probe Whisky, Taboca, Level, Gustavus, Phantom, Elixyr Power Energy, and Offroad (Cola, Icemint, Wintergreen, Strong).

Also tossed in a can of Skruf Strong, N&J, and Goteborg's Rape - may have spoiled myself by sampling the N&J and Goteborgs Rape first, made the Offroad Cola sorta unsatisfying and the LD Gold ok but kinda average in taste. Also opened the General White, no problems with that one. This is as far as I've gotten so far, but impressive overall.

But!, if you are placing your first order you should really try a couple loose cans, I only got 1 can of General, loved it and already ordered more loose (from Northerner this time - not sure if it was a special but the Match tasting kit was only $18.50). Don't be put off by the loose horror stories, the first few are a little messy but you get better quickly, at least I did.

Sorry for the long winded post, it's my first and I guess I just got on a roll. Thanks to the forum and members, you have been a great help to a snus newbie.

The mystery mix is the best way to start out, IMHO. That's what I went with in the beginning, and as I remember, I received a really good selection. That of course was the portions-only mix; I started ordering loose mainly on forum recommendations, but I might just try a mix on my next order.

I bought the 24 can mix of portions ( I think) from Northerner and I feel like I am loaded with snus. My Skruf Tranberry seems a bit dried out because I have been toting it around and putting it back in the fridge etc... but I am really learning snus. I also have an 8 pack? I think of loose in my freezer, but am working on the portions now. What a selection! I don't know much about taste even now. I seem to like these Grov portions. I didn't like the lucky strike brown portions, but may like luckys later.... I don't know if its smart to buy so many, but I think the price was much lower buying a 24 pack for fifty bucks... you really get to try them out .....

I don't notice the taste of a lot of snus... I mean obviously the flavored ones... but a lot of others are more or less bland....... compared to dipping skoal etc...

I got that same portion mix from notherner, although they've changed the contents since I ordered, i think I would have liked the new mix a bit better.

I have been meaning to post something like this for a while. It seems that many if not most of the folks hear are x-smokers. I applaud you all in your efforts to become smoke free. However, I have come to snus by a different rout and so I want to share my experiences with all those x-dippers who may be looking at this site for suggestions and direction to get started.
