I'm going to give this a go next time I order. Did anyone else notice that snusen.com looks practically the same as northerner's discount snus page? Even the same prices....Fatlip is the snus you ordered near the sell by data?

There are first field reports in German forums from people who had to pay duty (around 2,- Euros per can, 41% "EU-tax" and 19% German VAT). Maybe the British customs regulations are more "snuser-friendly", but I guess it's better to be prepared that some customs-formalities may appear also in the UK.

      Cheers!

I've been debating ordering from Snusen but three things have stopped me

The difference between them and Buysnus is on average only about £5-£7 (per four pack and roll). That is not much of a saving IMO - especially when you consider that we know exactly what to expect when ordering from Buysnus (service, prompt delivery, expiry dates of at least two-three months in the future etc).

I for one would rather spend those extra pounds with a company I know and trust.

Also Snusen doesn't offer bonus points on rolls.

Finally, although I am pleased to hear that FatLip was successful with his order, the question around Duty within the EU remains unresolved.

I suppose I could try them to see how they are....but the question is why?

Ps: phish, I think another forum member mentioned that it is in fact owned by Northerner

FatLip, that's good to know and counts in their favour.

It was just that the similarities between the Snusen website and Northerner discount (nearly expired) stock made me wonder...

I hope that you continue to get good service from them and I'd like to hear your comments after a couple more orders. I'd also like to see them expand the offer to include Ettan, Grov etc.

Moreover, for as long as my girlfriend is working in South Africa and I fly down there every couple of months Snusen would have to compete with the price I pay for General down there

Two weeks ago I picked up a roll of General for the grand price of £12 in South Africa. Now that is a bargain

Basically they evade the law somewhat. If you buy from an EU country when within the EU (for example buying from Sweden when in the UK) you are supposed to pay Swedish taxes. Thus buysnus charges you for this automatically. When you order from outside the EU, for example from Norway to the UK, they have no agreement on taxes, thus you are supposed to pay UK taxes. However, many packages aren't ever checked, so they usually won't charge the extra tax. However, if they do find your so sweet snus package, you might end up paying even more then you would ordering from Sweden.

Also note that in Norway snus is twice as expensive as in Sweden. However, as long as they're exporting to other countries, they get to legally evade Norwegian taxes to be able to compete in the international market. So I guess snusen.com found some loophole of sorts. Their profits per roll of snus sold is likely a lot higher then their competitors. I have to give them credit for a good business idea though. Unfortunately, when I go back to Norway in 3 weeks I won't be able to order from them because they don't ship outside the EU :P

I hope somebody from Finland finds courage to try to order from that place. Taxes for ordering snus here is terrible. At least, ordering cigars online works, and customs rarely pick them up. For snus, situation is not that good.

Northerner do offer a limited selection of tax free snus where it comes from their US warehouse to non-US customers if that helps at all.....
                        http://www.northerner.com/en/snus/No...rice_Snus-496/

I beleive under the Snusen concept the snus was sent from Norway (as it's not in the EU) but that closed down quite a while back.

When's somebody with a little money gonna invade/capture Sealand? I'd do it if I had the resources. Tobacco would be 100% tax free, and I could setup my own web shop :^)

Sounds like you'd need to get past Major Paddy Roy Bates 1st
