    UPS Hold for Pickup?

Does anyone have any experience with this option? I'm looking to see if it's possible to have a snus order held at my local UPS hub rather than delivered to my house. There doesn't seem to be any way to specify a hold for pickup when placing a snus order.

I believe that UPS has to try and deliver the item at least one time. Then you can call them and request that they hold it for pickup. 1-800-PICK-UPS

Probably wouldn't hurt to call them and see if they can just hold it without trying to deliver it once.

To do it online they have to make one delivery attempt. Take the info-notice number from the infonotice they leave and punch it into the tracking area on ups.com. From there click change delivery- hold for pickup (will call)

In Phoenix, they've always tried to deliver twice before giving up.

Wonder if you can go to a UPS Store (formerly Mailboxes Etc.) and use their mailing address for the shipment and then just pick up the package there? You may have to go the full route and open a mailbox with them but they tout your personal mailbox would be an actual street address and not a P.O. Box. Anyone doing this?

There is usually no one home at my house during the typical delivery times and I don't like having someone else sign for the stuff...

I have used hold for pickup just fine when not around to sign for my snus.

I think there is an issue with the age verification software the companies use if you try this.

Actually I got this to work....kinda. I had a failed delivery attempt since, of course, no one was home when the UPS guy came. So I changed the status to "Hold for pickup" and got my package at the UPS Customer Service Pickup location. They said in the future I could just put their address down with my name and UPS in the address line and they would hold it there for a week. It is actually only about 15 minutes from my house and they said often it gets there a day or so before a "home delivery" would since it cuts out a processing/loading step. Have to show ID and sign for it when picked up that that covers the adult signature

I had a shipment coming and wasn't going to be home to sign for it. I called UPS and asked them to hold it at the hub. They said they couldn't do that until they attempted once.

So I emailed getsnus.com (Northener). They called UPS and put an intercept on the package and had it held at the hub.

So, the shipper can make it happen without an attempt having to be made.

Ahah, maybe that's the trick. I hate waiting for them to make the attempted delivery, as I cant pick up until the truck returns at the end of the day. I will have to see if my nearby UPS will let me use their address directly.
