    snus prices and ordering

    Hi all,

I am new to this site and this is my first post.

It seems that in this forum many members are ordering from the northner, buysuns etc..

for the basics such swedish match products such as general white, catch etc.. isnt it much faster and cheaper to order from the shops carrying the product here in the usa? I am a general white user and find that buying cans for 2.50 usd and having it delivered in a day or 2 to be much easier than waiting for the stuff to come from home. I guess for some of the other brands import is the only option.

is there any place anyone knows that i can get SM products such as my general for less than 2.50?

Just spent some time in ohio and tried triumph snus and found it to be the closest substitute to my general white so far. Did definately taste like roda lacket though but thats good enough as i have been known to buy cans of the red occasionally.

anyway, nice to have found the forum.

I was under the impression that the limited selection available in America, things like plain General, a few Catch, etc, were more expensive than snus ordered from Sweden. Are you saying you can get tins of General white for US $2.50 ?

I was also under the impression that ordering from northerner and buysnus was less expensive and they have a better selection. Also, for me it only takes like a week to get my order, which is not bad at all. If I order on a sunday I almost always have it by friday. One thing I have noticed about prices on northerner and buysnus is that buysnus used to be a little cheaper after you calculated in shipping on both sites, but I did this again recently and found that Northerner was a little cheaper. This is kinda good though as I wanted to see if I could get Northerner to ship me some Montecristo Los to the US like a lot of people have been able to do. I have been using buysnus for quite a while and it would be cheaper if I did the sixth roll thing, but I usually do not buy rolls cause I like a different flavor with every new tin I open. I usually buy quite a bit of Gustavus though as its my favorite, but I like using different kinds so I do not get sick of one kind.

I just bought 4 cans of General for 3.00 (USD) each at my local (kinda) cigar store. But they were 2 days past date but in a cooler. that general cooler is neat but not very cold.

I've found that the price is pretty much the same regardless of where it comes from.

The local cigar shop in Fort Worth, Texas sells Snus for about $4.00 a can. When I order from Buysnus or Northerner, it works out to be about the same price.

One thing I am wondering is why I can buy General Wintergreen and Catch Dry Peppermint here, but not from buysnus. Maybe I should email them and ask about it. I think those flavors can only be imported by the roll from the Swedish Match site. My only problem with buying them locally is that the cans are usually nearly expired or even past the date.

I don't think ordering Snus from a US source is any easier. The delivery time might be slightly faster, but only if they ship it immediately.

By the way, the cigar shops in the US that are selling snus only stock the following:

            General Loose
            General Original Portion
            General White Portion
            General White Portion Wintergreen
            Catch Dry Peppermint

The cans are labeled in English and do have the usual cancer warning.

Kremer's Smoke Shop here in Louisville sells all their snus for $2.50.

              401 E Jefferson St
              Louisville, KY 40202
              (502) 584-3332

I think the owner mentioned that he sometimes ships a few cans here and there.

I was Just at Kremers Wednesday and they were out of everything except catch. I did Meet the General Rep though Cool dude we are gonna have some beers when he heads up north . I gave him a NJ he popped it in. he said he was a general white user after a few minutes of talking he like oh!!! Here come the train. I turned him on to buysnus and snuson he says its going pretty well as far as people taking to the snus.

Guess they weren't out of it for long. I got some General White yesterday. I think their fridge is broken, though! From what the owner says, they're flying off the shelves. Be sure to call ahead!
