    it's all about the money, why do you think they've stopped the shipping of expired snus to U.S?

    If I were Northerner I would give the expired SNUS for free to all customers that make an order of lets say $50....

    But selling expired SNUS for nearly $50 a roll is a shame. lewl

      Northerner has no control over taxes. If you win something in a contest absolutely free, you still have to pay taxes on it, and they can be substantial. They could bootleg snus, and avoid the taxes, but they won't be in business long doing that.

        @lx

        I won a roll of SNUS (Oden's Kanel Loose) and I didn't pay any taxes on it. Came from Europe as well.

        The expired SNUS comes from Europe too, but I DO have to pay taxes on it, lol, like I would pay on a normal order.

        I still don't understand how taxes work, but for a $9 order of expired snus the taxes are $100 that is insanely ridiculous, is there a chart or something, something official that I can check?

        Why would you be allowed to bring 1kg of snus through the frontiers and you don't pay taxes and you DO pay taxes when you order online, it's dumb.

        Today I just came from bulgaria bough some stuff from them and they're in the EU (including tobacco) you don't pay a dime..... when you cross borders....

        the laws are so screwed up.

        They should legalize SNUS urgently, and let me open my SNUS shop - now that sounds better :-)

          Someone paid the taxes, or it was an illegal transaction. Small operations may be able to avoid it, but anything approaching professional will have to pay the taxes somehow. Just like getting a free pack of cigarettes when you buy one(Do they do that anymore?). They had a label that said all taxes were paid by the manufacturer.

          It is a normal order as far as the government's concerned. Tobacco is taxed by weight, not value. 20g of the finest Cuban tobacco will be taxed the same as 20g of discarded stems from the shop floor. Market value doesn't come into play. That's why sin taxes are bullshit. They have no basis in reality.

          I'm sure there is, but I don't know where you would find it. Also, when dealing with customs, you're dealing with thousands of petty tyrants that run things the way they see fit, and they may, or may not have the backing of law. Sometimes being right isn't enough when dealing with the government.

          Yup, it's dumb.

          Everyone has the laws they asked for. People wanted the government to take care of them like surrogate parents, and the government was happy to oblige; at a cost. Government is like a virus. The more you feed it, the bigger it grows, and it becomes more dangerous, and harder to eradicate. They take away your voice, and take away your weapons. What can you do about it?

            There's a long way from $10 to $129, I am so fed up with such enormous taxes.
