    Taxes

As I understand it, when I get tobacco from Sweden, it's my responsibility to figure the taxes on my own (in the US) and send it in to the fed and state (where state law applies).

I'm looking into to doing so. I'm sure everyone else has been doing the same...

Hypothetically... if someone say, "forgot" or made some sort of error, what's the risk of penalty/prosecution? Has anyone had experience with any negative consequences of this sort?

Okay. Just noticed that in mn you can buy $770 per year withou paying any tax. Anyone know if there's a similar exemption on the fed side?

I'd simply let the customs-officers do their job. If you ever will have to pay any taxes for your snus-imports then you'll hear from them soon enough. I only heard one time about such a case, here on the forum: http://www.snuson.com/viewtopic.php?...highlight=duty

      Cheers!

I was thinking that, as far as the fed wa concerned I needed to do the leg work and file anything on my own. That's how it works for the state of Minn. But now I'm thinking that, if I owe anything, customs will let me know. Is that the case?
