    Custom's Question

I'm thinking about ordering snus online from a swedish online store that I do not normally use. (I usually use SnusCentral)

Unlike SnusCentral though, this particular store does not take care of any of your custom's fees.

"We deliver to all countries that are in the menu on the page where you sign up. For deliveries outside Sweden, the purchaser is responsible for any taxes or customs charges that are applicable."

Exactly how would I take care of my own custom's fees?

Also, they would make me order in Euro's instead of U.S. dollars, will my credit card ding me a fee for the exchange?

Any info on this would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Hippy

I would imagine, if it gets stopped at customs you will get a bill with the parcel, pay it and no issues, if they don't stop it happy days If there are customs charges to pay here in the UK they send you a note, pay it then they deliver the package or you go to the post office to pick it up.

If it is based in Sweden it will charge your card in Krona, then the applicable rate will be applied by the card issuer, there is usually a small fee for the transaction. My bank charges a £1 for a transaction not in sterling, so it adds an extra £1 to the total cost. I don;t know about the US but they cant charge you a huge fee here in Europe, check with the card issuer first to make sure.

Theres a big difference between customs charges/tax and the small transaction fee on your credit card. That small transaction fee should actually be for the difference in the value of the US dollar. The custom charges/tax is a whole nother matter and can vary greatly from country to country. AFAIK

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Don't think I made that clear in my post :P Here in the UK we have to pay VAT on anything from outside the EU if its value is over £20, and any duty levied on that product at the applicable rate. Since oral tobacco is not taxed here we don't pay any tax on snus etc but if the package is over £20 we have to pay VAT and a "customs handling charge" if we e.g. had cigarettes sent over we would need to pay the tobacco tax at £x.xx (if they stop it!). It will be the same for you, I don;t know what the taxes are for where you are but it may work something like. You buy a roll of General from this store, customs open it, they will send you a bill for the taxes levied by your country/state on the product e.g. 20p per tin, 20p x 10 = £2 so you would pay £2 in taxes plus the "customs handling charge" of whatever your country charges and if int he states whatever state taxes are applied also. They send you a note saying you need to pay X then they will release the package to you.

Hope thats clear I have had a few drinkies :P If customs stop it will entirely depend on what is put on the customs form, if they are honest expect a bill with the parcel.

yea all the countries have there own crap that we have to deal with. I ship in such a way that it always slides right by customs.......so far. And I'm honest on the customs form and since I mainly buy from northerner the US/state tax is already paid. When I ship it out all I worry about is customs in the other country. So far so good tho. Long gone are the days of $2 a tin snus and free shipping.

          Still cheaper than cigarettes tho.
