No mate, the Tories are taking us back to being competitive, no longer will the axiom 'it's not the winning but the taking part' apply. It's gold medals that count.

Squeezy, someone's watching us? That is no of help to me lol

Lol - no need to be suspicious? Since certain companies pop up instantly when you type in snus on google, why on earth would any 'secret eu agents' want to sniff around on here - ???

Theres no need to be worried, snus is legal to have. Its just that sales or certain brands are restricted to some degree in certain places. You should have expected an influx of new members from the UK scrambling to find a new source. Its cool mate.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

There is a slight air of paranoia creeping in and I think it's justified that we protect our sources but not to the detriment of new snussers. How you do that though is a good question. I don't think you can.

Well surely there should be no suspicion with online sites which are acting legally? And that's all I'm interested in really - in fact need to know now what other sites there are, as northener not working... for example is 'snusline' reputable?

hmmmm. Northerner can ship from the US so that's definately not illegal. It's also tax free.

In fact, it's all a grey area really. There is no hard and fast legislation really - only when a group in Finland took legal action did it become illegal in Finland. So I think that it has to be contested within that country to set a legal precedent. I dunno, but Swedish Match took the frighteners after that along with some distributors and withdrew from EU sales even though there was no law precedent set anywhere else.
As far as I'm aware, the EU law states that snus cannot be sold within other EU countries e.g. A vendor cannot be set up within the UK to sell to UK or EU citizens.

That's the state of affairs at the moment, sadly. Snus is legal to own and use in all EU countries - but it is illegal to sell in all of them apart from Sweden.

In the past when we ordered from Swedish online shops we were doing so under the premise that we were buying in Sweden and they were sending it to us - after all its supposed to be a free market! Anyway, this one court action brought about by a Finnish anti-cancer charity against a smaller online snus seller has ended up with an EU court ruling establishing that when one buys snus online the purchase occurs in the country you are in. Hence the situation we find ourselves in at the moment - all web shops are scared of prosecution and have stopped except Northerner who had the foresight to relocate a warehouse in the USA where they can send snus to EU countries without fear of recrimination although it means every time we order, we run the gamut of our local customs - in the UK that means it can take up to 2 months to get through as they puzzle over how to categorise the stuff by which time it's dried up.

I'm awfully sorry if that's boring & nerdy. Snus actually is an amazing thing - delicious, diverse, life-saving if you're a smoker ... But the laws have brought it to that - I'm personally working out how I can make the bloody stuff myself which is great for me, but is not going to benefit people like yourself who have just discovered how sensible snus is.

The upshot of this is Northerner is the only real way to go now. If you don't like it, you'll either have to get a cheap flight to Stockholm or learn how to make snus

                        Cheers

I see where you're coming from muddy, esp since we know we are being watched by a nothing organisation who can DO NOTHING about it and are trying to put the frighteners up everyone.

I say let them watch us, I simply will not go back to smoking and I will get my snus even if it means flying to Sweden a few times a year, I will not be dictated to and I certainly haven't got where I am today by doing what I was told to do!

Yup, and in the end, if they want to bust Northerner, or any other store, they can just place an order. Hearsay on a forum is virtually useless, while an actual order will give them everything they need. No point in being too paranoid over things.

Of course, that doesn't mean mindlessly run your mouth about everything. If there's something that could be considered questionable, it would be better to keep it close. People will have to use their best judgement, but we are definitely watched by many people, both for and against snus.

I just wish the EU would hurry up and make their decision! On that bombshell I am off to bed, ciao chaps.
