    Northerner - they really do suck!

    Many of you will recall my first post in this forum where I asked for help sourcing some snus in ATL. I get deliveries from online vendors (for other stuff besides snus!) probably twice a week and have done so for years. I do most of my shopping for my family and I online. I'm quick to compliment (Amazon, for example) and equally as quick to criticize. Here is my experience with my very last Northerner order in case any of you are thinking of using them. I can't believe how inept and sleazy this outfit is.

    Tuesday, Oct. 23rd - Late at night and I place my order with 2 day shipping, so that it will arrive Friday (when I'm home). Product is shown as in stock on their site.

    Thursday, Oct 25th - Suddenly realize that I've not received a UPS shipping notice and send them an email using the "Contact Us" function on their site. On the same day, they charged my card even though they did not have the product to ship yet.

    Friday, Oct 26th - No response to emails, and I find the Help Desk function on their website. I get an answer in minutes telling me the product is out of stock. Funnily enough, it still shows on their site as being in stock. I ask for substitution and that I expect the order on Monday. No response. A few hours later, I send another request - this time I want the order cancelled and a full refund. No response. This is the same day I discover this forum as well as buysnus.com.

    I let things ride for a couple of days with no response from Northerner.


    Wednesday, Oct 31 - I again ask for a refund, and further state that I will refuse any delivery attempt now. No response.

    So guess what I freakin' got today (Thursday, Nov 1)? An invoice as well as a UPS tracking number!!! WTF! What a scummy, no good, dirtbag business. I figure the best way to handle now is to refuse delivery and to dispute the charges. Can anyone see a downside to this or a better way to handle?

    On the flip side, my order from buysnus.com came in on-time and without hassle. They are definitely on my 'approved source' list going forward. I even got a decorative tin can and a free pen to boot!

      Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......





      I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

        Yup, rant's a bit over the top. It wasn't the smoothest transaction, but you have snus coming. If it were me, I'd take the snus and put it in the freezer. If you don't want to use Northerner anymore, then don't.

            They all have their problems. After being so pissed at northerner/getsnus, I decided to try SnusCentral. Well after their DIBS payment system got stuck for 20 minutes, it somehow decided to double my order and charge me twice. I never got s confirmation email, and if I go onto my SC account, it shows that no orders have been made, yet my bank shows I am already being charged twice. Several emails have gone unanswered, and if course they have no phone number. So I guess I have to call my bank to stop the payment, which I'm sure ill be charged for. =^\

              In six years I have never had a single problem with buysnus. I cannot think of even one can of snus they forgot or sent the wrong kind. if I use their contact form they always reply quick too. Always nice and helpful. I buy plenty of stuff online and I can honestly say buysnus gives better service than anyone else I have brought from. I always make sure I use their contact form and not email because email is so unreliable.

                Sorry that the order sucks. I have basically decided to stop using Northerner. I only bought from them because I'd get free shipping when I'd bulk order. Still isn't really worth the pain in the ass that the company has become.

                  My rant is not over the top at all. The issue is not the delay in the order process. My issue is that once they admitted they did not have the product in stock, they simply refused to cancel the order and refund my money (which they really should not have charged until time of shipment anyway). They had almost 5 days to do this in, but chose to ignore multiple messages instead. I may very well end up keeping the order now I look at it, but it bugs the shit out of me to have been ignored in this manner.

                  PLUS - I still get to pay for two day shipping on an order I don't need for a couple of months now. F@#k Northerner.

                    Haven't dealt with Northerner, and I don't intend to.

                    These type of threads have been around since I discovered this forum. You guays have definitely scared me away! :^D

                      Honestly, I've had a few good experiences with Northerner. Their recent service however has turned me away from them, for good. I've had a couple issues with Northerner now, and never any issues with SnusCentral or BuySnus. Easy choice, for me.

                        Owens187's story with SnusCentral.com does have a happy ending; amazing since it was after 1:00AM Swedish time when all this occurred. I jumped to the middle of the thread to the happy ending in the interests of continuity.....

                          Impressive! I use snusauction from time to time and have never had an issue.

                            An amazingly happy ending. The response to my issue was insane, and SC has definately won over a loyal customer. I shall buy snus from no-one else for the forseeable future!

                              I agree with the topic!

                              But when you live in Europe and like to have a good DIP, you have to order from Northerner
                              There is no (not that I'm know of) other online-store, who sells AND ship DIP to Europe!

                              That's maybe something, BuySnus have to look in to !! Then we would have the best of both wolrds!!
