Oh no, shipping disaster! UPDATE: BuySnus.com ROCKS!

Oh no, disaster! I had been waiting patiently for ~2 weeks for my new load of snus to arrive. This morning I check my mail, all giddy and hopeful for some fresh snus (the stuff I have is good, but I'm really excited to try out some new cans).

I see a big envelope, which is good.

But the envelope has nothing in it, which is bad.

It's stamped with a "Received w/o items." I guess this is bad, right? I don't think Buysnus guarantees their shipping, and I don't think USPS does either, unless you take out insurance on the thing being shipped?

I hate to be mistrustful, but the opening on the end of the envelope looks a little bit too clean to really be just a random handling error, it really looks like someone opened it up and then taped it back together.

Has anybody else had this happen to them? Should I just chalk this up to bad luck and reorder?

UPDATE: Yeah, it's 3am, but who cares... BuySnus.com just sent me another order! Not only that, but they re-sent my first order, because the stuff that was lost I had already re-ordered. Wow, I would have been grateful just to have had the same thing sent again, but it's pretty obvious that whoever was checking into this was smart and courteous.

That is totally awesome, and now I'm convinced that these are people that I want to actively support. Hoo-rah!

No!!! Contact Buysnus and let them know what happened. yeah, they say they don't gurantee anything. But every member who has had something similar happen has been taken care of by Buysnus. One of the reasons they are so popular.

So let them know and then tell us what they say.

Sounds like a customs issue, try calling your local shipping office for an explanation.

Dam I'm sorry that happened bud. I'm sure buysnus will fix you up.

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I've received several shipments that were obviously slashed open and resealed. As mentioned above, it is most likely customs double-checking the package. I've never lost a tin, but they sure are sloppy when they tape the envelope closed. The last order that they opened had a good-sized hole in it; if I had ordered a tin or two less, the envelope contents would have been loose enough to pop through. Luckily, I was almost up to the maximum weight step so it was packed pretty tight. 8)

Aye, I've emailed them and told them that I'm a (soon to be) regular customer and put in another order for ~$100 (USD)... honestly, it's a good thing that the postal services are so reliable that you almost never think about not getting what's being sent... but it still sucks when there's a mess-up and you get the shaft. :P

Hopefully soon I'll be able to provide some good rep for BuySnus.com after they try to help me out.

I sent a bunch of Dip to Subtilo in Denmark and the same thing happened. the envalope had been cut open (cleanly) and all contents removed. He received it close to 2 weeks later covered in stamps reading "received without contents".

I am leaning towards theft more than customs. Not much the postal service can do. Just contact Buysnus, they should take care of you.

That's really strange though. If you were going to steal snus, why wouldn't you just pocket the whole envelope?

                  Who can know?

I sent my email to BuySnus.com yesterday, no reply yet.

Not to spam my own topic here, but I did just check my order history over on BuySnus.com's website, and it shows that I have 3 orders.

The last order is for ~$100 as I mentioned above, I just ordered this yesterday and it is marked as "Order sent to customer." since they've already shipped it out....

And then below that, the shipment from July 24th that was lost in the mail is listed also as being "Order sent to customer."

But then my first order from June 23rd (my first BuySnus.com order) is listed as "Order verified." Which is odd - I could have sworn the last time I looked at my order history page both of the first two orders were listed as "Order sent to customer." The date is still listed as June 23rd, though - seems like the date would be updated if they reactivated the order to send it out again?

But maybe they went back and are re-shipping my first order to me instead of re-sending the 2nd shipment? Which would really be great, because not only was my first order for more snus, but in my 3rd order that I just put in yesterday, I reordered all the snus tins that were lost in the mail, so...

Man, is anybody still reading all this text? :P

Yup, not just reading, but can't wait for you to find out how great Buysnus is in taking care of their customers. Definitely let us know when it is settled.

LOL, Sagedil - you called it!

The best part is they did this even though I'm 99% sure the snus getting lost while in the mail was in no way their fault. As George Carlin used to say: "I'm a happy guy!"

I was pretty stoked when I got my 2nd order from buysnus the other day. I'd ordered 9 portion cans, but they sent me 11! I got a free can of Phantom Classic and an OffRoad coffee/vanilla. I did send them a friendly email after my first order arrived. I definitely recommend buysnus.com.

                            I have to reitterate.

I have not come across more than a handful of companies active on the internet that follow through like this. I'm happy to give them my business and reccomend them to anyone interested in snus.

buysnus has really raised the bar as far as I am concerned.
