Prospective Trip to Göteborg or Stockholm - need some advice

Hi all, long time lurker - first time register and poster!

Long time user of the venerable product in portion format from the UK (picked it up originally when living in Oslo a few years ago and experiencing their harsh winters).

I am planning a trip in the New Year over to Sweden (via low cost airline Ryanair) to do a day trip/overnighter to stock up on a few rolls (all for personal use, of course!)

    However I need some advice:

Where is the best place in Göteborg or Stockholm (looking at some kind of Snus Supermarket type place) to buy good quality cheap stuff (very partial to Skruf, Rapé, Granit, Odens, Mocha) - and how much can I expect to pay for a roll of 10 cans in recommended places.

Secondly - I've seen talk of a "Snus Museum" recently opened by SM in Stockholm - is it worth a visit (and if so - how much would stuff be to purchase there)

Finally - am I right in thinking that if checked at the airport coming back in - as long as I have receipt from the store showing I have paid the tax at point of sale - I won't be delayed by customs?

Have a good Christmas and New Year all - hopefully I can get some good advice!

Snus2 in Goteborg is a good place, essentially a snus supermarket. The SM snus shop is just a big shop that sells only SM snus fresh daily (stocks are replaced every morning) and has a cafe inside.

Wouldn't worry about customs, its not illegal to bring it back to the UK and you can't be charged tax on it here as smokeless tobacco isn't taxed. Just go, enjoy yourself and get as much snus as you can.

          hey,

if you fly to stockholm arlanda from gatwick you don't even need to pay for a hotel you can do a round trip... stock up with 6 months worth at the airport. it can be done. then back to Gatwick about 9pm or something after flying out there at 2pm or something.

In Goteborg you could go to snus2.se shop on an industrial estate... wide range of snus and bits... relatively expensive place to visit which is fine if you've got the cash. edit: that's Sweden generally not neccessarily the snus2.se store.

btw, if doing the round trip from gatwick to stockholm... don't forget you can only get the snus back in your hand luggage not a suitcase that gets on separately.

Cool - leaning towards Goteborg as it seems to be more convenient for flight times - looking at taking budget of 2800 SEK for the day to spend on stuff.

Thanks for the tips - I've heard good things about Snuslagret - but couldn't find much info on them.

I might take you up on that offer in the future.

I assume that the prices on the Snus2 webshop will be the equivalent prices in store? I normally am used to paying 160 Norwegian Kr for a 5-can pack at airport - are prices going to be similar but with the small bit of sales tax on top?

It'll be strictly hand luggage - filled with nothing but cans and rolls (plus a warm jumper!)

Also - does Goteborg City Airport stock anything (I seem to remember it being a tiny airport when I was last there in 2007)

I would bring a bunch of empty tins to Gellivare and I would also visit Mr. GN to buy old Ving and lime los. My perfect shopping trip.

                          Well - everything's booked up!
Heading to Goteborg this Wednesday - 6am flight out - 8pm flight back. Snus2 store on Vasagatan will be visited as well as Snuslagret.

                          Bag to be filled!

As I'll be bringing back a helluva lot with me - what's the best way to store cans once home?

vacuum seal them in blocks of say 5 cans... then store them in the freezer.

Would leaving them sealed in the plastic wrapping you get on packs of 10 cans be ok?
