I called one of those Superamericas in Menomonie and I can confirm that this is true. If the price is reasonable, my days of ordering online might possibly be over I would miss the extra sterks, but oh well.

Just an update, I just got back from the Superamerica in Menomonie and WHAT A STEAL!!! $1/tin. Granted its only Nordic Mint that they carry, but still for real Swedish snus...WOW! I'm sure it's only promotional, so I guess I'll ride it out while it lasts. I'd buy more except I have like 20 tins in my freezer to burn through yet.

There is a convenience store chain in my area called Pilot. They now carry General in a small fridge.

In the round 24 portion can they have Original, White, Mint and Wintergreen.

The regular price is $3.49. But they have $2.50 off coupons which brings the price down to $1.31 including tax.

If you live in the southeastern USA you might want to check this out.

I know there are a few Pilot's around me but damn if i know where they are or how to get to them. It is nice seeing so many locations around Illinois though, even if it is just for general. Does anyone know why it's just general thats being more and more popular? Of all the people I've ever gotten to try snus none of them wanted it when i had general they all wanted it when i had mocca black maple or jaks melon.

General is the only one Swedish Match is interested in developing atm. They had a very limited Ettan trial, but AFAIK, it's been suspended. The other brands don't have SM's marketing power, and some aren't in America at all.

I should have mentioned that the Pilot stores that carry General are on the Snus Locator.

Strangely enough, the Flying J/Pilot truck stops don't seem to carry it. I would think that snus would be popular with truckers that wish to quit smoking. Good luck in finding some if you want it. It is a great price.

+1, can't get snus within like 800 km of where I live, and for that I have to cross into the states. nothing but beavers and beers around these parts.

It's time to resuscitate this old thread. General is running a $1.95 off per can promotion now. In my area, the promotion applies only to tobacco stores. Gas stations and convenience stores are not included. Yesterday, 15 cans cost me about $26 including tax … not bad!

I found an easier to use version of the General locator page. Just click on the link and then substitute your zip code for mine and press the 'Find' button. Check it out.

Sounds like a fun night. Better than General anyway.

I just dont understand why something that is supposed to be "traditional" snus would be promoted so much here. Why not thunder mint or wintergreen, the best selling product ever here would probably be jak's melon. Noone is going to get a can of general and then say "hey i'll probably start to like this over time." They might finish the can and then never buy it again and that puts them off from different brands that roll in. NJ cactus, Jak's melon, Thunder mint, catch eucalyptus, NJ cactus....they aren't my favorite but it is something more americans would be willing to try.

I'm not sure I agree. I admit to trying the mint before getting into the traditional flavors, but I know of at least one guy who started with General op and has stuck with it. The traditional flavor seems to be more attractive to people who use dip, and maybe that is the main market SM is aiming for.
The mint and Nordic mint have more appeal to the smokers I know, but do those count as traditional?
