Ordered from the new and improved Northerner a couple weeks back and I have to say I'm impressed. Shipping was in line with snuscentral and I had my snus in my hand in three days. Couple that with the updated catalog and I have to say I'm ecstatic. BTW Rick, I just bought up the last three cans of Flader at the High Point, NC shop that LCarvone was talking about. May wanna send them a fresh truckload.

AHHH!!! I have been so busy I haven't had a chance to get down there yet...good to know they seem to be doing some business which I imagine helps keep them as sources.
Rick...is there a standard set so to speak that a store is stocked with upon being added to the distribution or is it unique to the retailer?

All that being said, The PACT act requires delivery sellers to collect the federal, state and local taxes PRIOR to delivery to a consumer. This is the real reason Northerner got licensed...they wanted to be operating legally in the US 100%, no gray areas. Now, there are webshop owners that argue the US cannot force foreign companies to do this. I tend to agree, but if you ask the FDA or one of the state regulatory bozos..they'll say if they aren't collecting the taxes, they're breaking the law. Truth is, they aren't or cannot enforce it as well against a webshop. So, the webshops have more flexibility to sell all the new flavors and brands without regard to FDA approval.
Now, what the FDA is good at these days, is regulating individual tobacco shops and distributors located here in the US. So, we have to adhere to every letter of the law, we cannot sell products that haven't yet gotten "full" FDA approval. Like, Oden's Cold, Jak's melon and Thunder Cool Mint...there's a HUGE list of products I'd love to offer, but can't right now. The manufacturers of these products, FULLY understand this, and we've discussed it at length. We're in the infancy of snus in the US, so be patient...all things will get better for snus users here, and hopefully everywhere.
So, in a nutshell...selling a product not yet approved by the FDA is easier to do via a webshop to a consumer than from a distributor to a brick and mortar retailer. The fines are ridiculous and I won't open my company or any of the manufacturers up to that type of liability. The web shops can do what they want, and I wish them well. F-the man...that's what I say.
