How do you guys justify spending so much for shipping? I've been buying General at local gas stations for a couple of years and I just realized how expensive it is to order online. Five cans costed me 60 dollars. I feel like this is the next logical step in buying snus but its so expensive.

For me, I think Grov tastes better, hands down and especially the white. For a large enough order the shipping is minimal, though not like it used to be. Back in the day it made sense to order a roll at a time, or even 10 different cans. Now I don't think it makes much sense, for me at least, to order less than 40 or 50 cans at a time. I used to feel the same way about Nick & Johnny's too but I've since converted to Thunder. Now, thanks to Rick Charles we've got Thunder and Odens in a shop a couple of hours away in Seabrook NH. I don't go there even yearly but I work nearly half way there so the trip is doable. I also want to couple that with purchasing a case of whiskey in NH too. With the two I'd probably save exactly what it would cost me in gas but at least I'd give a little profit to a US business.

So I guess selection makes it worth justifying the shipping cost. That, and volume.

First welcome to SnusOn! Shipping cost have always been to high in my opinion. And they have gotten much higher after the Pact act of 2010.

How much was the shipping cost on your 5 cans? Was $60 the total cost or just the shipping cost

Hmm, five cans of Onyx from Northerner would be $ 26.80, the most expensive snus online if I'm correct, so add the UPS and you are right at $ 60.....maybe? Other than that scenario, I can't imagine paying that much....

It was 5 cans of the lab series from sinus central by the way and it was 55 I just rounded up.

I have placed two orders now from snuscentral.

Order 1: 10 can roll Thunder Frosted Longer +, 10 can roll Jakobsson's Strong Mint, 10 can bag o' snus, $125.— with the "first order discount."

Order 2: 10 can roll General Classic Mint, 9 cans of other misc I wanted to try, $110.—.

It costs a lot, probably more that buying locally, especially if you sign up for the General's Club thing and get all of the discount coupons(and buy locally).

Once you figure out what you like though, and order A LOT at once, it will probably end up being about the same price or cheaper (once coupons are all gone- they give you like 8 buy one get one free) to order online. Plus, online probably gets you fresher product, and definitely more variety.

Well I'm in Canada and so far SnusCentral is the best! Took 3 and 4 days to receive 2/3 packages and I'll probably get the rest on Monday!
For me shipping costs isn't the problem...but then again, we don't have any shops carrying Snus, not even american snus.
The real problem lies in the Taxes and Custom Duties! 40$ order from buysnus.com...I had 55$ duties and taxes to pay! For 5 Cans!

So far I haven't paid a dime on my orders from Snuscentral, I'm very happy and so is my Wallet :P
If the last package goes through without fees, that would be 18 cans for 80$ compared to the 150+$ I would pay with BuySnus.com

Do you currently buy from them? I have not yet as their reputation is a bit weak, but they do have some exclusive product that I would like.

Northerner is fine 90% of the time but they are not very good at fixing things the other 10% of the time when they do screw up. They do fix things eventually and I do order from them.

My last 4 orders from Northerner have been fine, no problems other than I got a jaks wintergreen instead of classic, they refunded the cost of the can and gave me a free can in my next order.

Right, I scrolled down to the bottom of their home page and it says 10-100% off. It sounds like they have tightened up some, so I think I'll give them a try.
