No, Northerner now removes it from your basket at check out if you are an american customer.
There are a few sites that do let american customers buy monte cristo and romeo y julieta but they take no responsibility if your order is seized at customs.
I forget the two websites that allow you to order habanos snus
3rd, do I face any potential legal repercussions if customs seizes my order?
Thanks guys
That's the only question I have any kind of answer to, well mostly. AFAIK, you'll just lose your order, they won't put you in jail or anything :^P If nothing else you can claim ignorance by pointing to the fact that it's a Swedish make, and you thought they were just using the Montecristo name.
Fidel Castro has been known to ship the lös to the USA, but it can be hit or miss. Sometimes he ships, sometimes not. If he won't do it, it'll be removed from your cart before your card is charged I believe.
You never did post how you liked the Cuban tobac. Do you have any preference for either brand? Cool Just curious...
Hey Rob, didn't see that question before. The RyJ portion quickly became a top 5 portion, I only wish it came in Lös as well. Thats got to be the juiciest portion I've had to date, and the flavor "takes a lickin' and keeps on ticking".
The Montecristo Lös is fantastic, strong and juicy with the everlast flavor going for it too. As far as favorite, I like em both but have a preference for Lös to begin with so the nod goes to MC. I'm glad I took the plunge, these are both great Snus' that will be regulars in my rotation.
RobME observes:
That German site, DELETEDBYREQUEST.COM strange as it seems, is in Stockholm Sweden, they're a better bet, and yes, they'll ship Cuban snus to the USA. Their prices are lower and their handling fees are lower. Matter of fact, for my small order they threw in a can of General Sterk, which pretty much wiped out the 'handling' fee. The actual shipping charge was barely a buck and a half more than buysnus would've charged. These guys are the ones to go with for Cuban tobacco snus.
What he said....and I'll add that I added a bunch of other Snus since the prices are practically the same as Buysnus'.
I went with another site before reading this thread. The other site posted would have saved me $5 for the three cans i ordered. One each of the cuban snus. Patience is a virtue, the site isn't shipping my order til Monday anyway and Rob said he got a bonus can of Sterk.
Do yourselves a favor and do not use snuson.com as a clearing house for information on how to import Cuban snus to the USA. Taboca checks this site for comments regularly (I used to work for them in Norway), and I had to go out to Gothenburg once to meet with the local Habanos guy and the CEO of Northerner to ask them to stop shipping Cuban products to the USA.
Taboca AS is not a "big player," but they have the license to produce snus with two of Cuba's biggest brands, and they indeed have Cuban tobacco in the blend (I saw it). It's indeed a factor as to why the products are so good. However, Habanos and Imperial Tobacco (50% owner of Habanos) would rather not know which companies are shipping to the US. They'll simply require Taboca to cease doing business with them.
And, by the way, you, the individual, are the importer. If you pay duty on the delivery from Sweden, you are the guy that gets in trouble if they catch you.

So, the contradiction you speak confuses me.
Are we doing ourselves a favor?
Are we doing the shops a favor?
I doubt I would be in "trouble" in a literal sense for buying snus with cuban tobacco. I imagine the worst case scenario would be never receiving my shipment.
So if the "importer" carries the burden why not let whomever chooses to purchase do so and deal with the consequences.
Just curious, since I've read some of your posts, who do you work for? From which part of Europe do you hail? Why not give us a little more info to educate the snuson consumers. We are ravenous for information.
I think the problem is shops and manufacturers are corporate entities, and are held more accountable by governmental organizations. As a private party the government won't really go after you, but life could be made unpleasant for a company, especially one with plans to enter the American market.
I am an American, hailing from NYC, who worked for Gallaher in Russia, Poland and Scandinavia. I then, through Gallaher contacts, met up with the folks in Taboca, and managed their Swedish and Norwegian businesses for a time.
Big tobacco companies are under seige for many reasons. One big issue is smuggling. Polish Marlboros cost just over $2. Swedish Malrboros $7 and Norwegian $13. Poland is a quick trip to get those cheap smokes.
The issue with Cuban products is simply a result of the embargo, but tobacco companies are just as diligent. Taboca was brought to the table by Altadis, former 50% shareholder in Habanos, when one can was purchased on-line via Swedish WWW retailers.
What I am saying is that, if you say, for example, that "Buysnus.com" is exporting the Cuban products to USA, someone from the manufacturer will shut it down.
I noticed we didn't have one of these for cigars so here goes. Post what your favorites are, what is currently or always in your humidor, and what your...
Known worldwide as the only snus manufacturer to produce the Cuban tobacco brands Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta, Taboca AS also manufactures the Taboca brand of Swedish snus.
Northerner.com provides the largest selection of smokeless tobacco online. Everything from Swedish snus to American chew, Nicotine Pouches, Nasal Snuff and much more. They have been providing over 140.000 happy customers worldwide since 1998.
Well, I really hate to go public with this and I have more than one time defended Northerner against other members of this forum, who simply had bad luck...
