Snus in Minnesota (Duluth in particular)

    Hi all,
Looks like I'll probably be moving from Europe to the States in a couple of years - and will be settling in Duluth, Minnesota.

So, the obvious thought came up - SNUS!

What varieties of the Swedish brands can I get in that area (or Minneapolis/St Paul) and how widespread will it be to get my hands on?

I'd get used to ordering from overseas. Best case is you'll have General, Jakobssons, Thunder, and Odens, with General being the most widespread. There's also native tobacco. Dip, leaf chew, dry snuff, and American SNUS. Dip is closest to snus. Its snus' retarded cousin that got separated from the family a couple centuries ago. In most cases its too sweet, but Copenhagen snuff is pretty good imo.

General's web site has a store finder, that lists every store selling their products. Just type in a postal code. Limited choices; usually just their original and mint. Unless, of course, somebody can recommend a good tobacco shop up there. Nice town though.

Hello kthalvorsen, Andy's suggestion of checking the General locator page is a good one. I found about 25 stores in a 10 mile radius of downtown Duluth that sell General. You can see their names and a map here. http://tinyurl.com/q9bel4n
If you need more variety, then Lxskllr is right - you will need to order from online web stores. Welcome to SnusOn.

Will it be easier to order in online from Swedish suppliers - as I had real problems getting stuff to the UK (EU Ban and all that)

As of today, there should be no issues with getting snus to Minnesota. There's no accounting for new laws, so tomorrow could be different, but I don't think they have a lot of crazies there looking for new laws to create.

KT, I order from Sweden and receive it in the Chicago area in 4 or 5 days, no extra taxes or problems ( so far).
BuySnus and Northerner, depending on who's got the best deals on shipping.

The above is a good sum up of the product. Actually, I may be one of the very few Snus consumers who really fell in love with it form the git go but then decided that Dip did the trick.

Also believing that American Dip is probable not as "safe" as Swedish Snus. While none of it is on the Olympic diet, I'd have to agree that Snus rates above Dip in the downside.

Snus for me...... just never could cut the mustard as compared to the results of Dip. They are not similar in any way.

But I tend to think that is only because I was a smoker from "back in the day".

I hate the phrase "back in the day"! That is a totally brand new turn of words. Nobody ever said "back in the day" until maybe fifteen years ago.
