What happens if my snus is stopped in customs? UK

Hi everyone. First post on snuson!

I'm originally from Norway, but living in the UK atm. I've had some trouble getting snus, and at least 1 order failed me this fall. Now, I've just ordered from an online store that advertises a 4 day delivery, and its been far more than that. How do I know if it got stopped in customs? Will I get notified? Do they consfiscate the snus, or do I have to pay some form of tax?

I have ordered snus to the UK for many years now ... and I still don't really know the answer to the question you are asking!

Mostly my orders have come in the expected time frame - especially when it is sent by a service like UPS.

But sometimes it has taken much longer ... occasionally that turns out to be a problem with the vendor and other times it is for an unknown reason but is usually when it used the standard domestic postal service.

In every other situation that I have dealt with customs (non-tobacco) - they will send through a letter with a bill detailing any charges to pay before they will release it for delivery - so I would be surprised if it was ending up in British customs if you don't get that letter.

But it always ends up with you? Because this fall i ordered from a site that might not have the best reputation. But it never came, no notice from customs, and no snus over half a year later. Although i ordered from somewhere else aswell, so atleast i got some snus that time.

Surely that sounds like a very good reason to complain to the company that supposedly sent the snus to you. Ask them for proof of postage and tracking information. It's not good enough to order blindly from these online companies entirely at your own risk ... these companies make all of their money on the promise of delivering goods internationally and problems like yours should be written in to their business plans!

And yes ... It has always ended up with me ... even if I have had to argue with the company for over a year.

Funnily enough, I got the package today. 2 weeks and 1 day after they shipped. No trouble with customs. I guess thats a lesson learned for future orders. Always order way ahead of when you need the snus :P

That is ALWAYS the key Keyseki. I learned when I started snussing....when I'm down to three rolls I put in an order. My deliveries have always been two weeks ordering outside of the EU. Really glad you got it.
