Delivery to Mexico

My third snus order (SnusCentral, 5 cans) arrived on friday

So, after 3 succesful orders, I can conclude that ordering snus from Mexico is a good idea. The things to keep in mind is i) Can't place large orders, those will get caught by customs I'm afraid and ii) It takes between 2-4 weeks for the snus to arrive.

Good, post makes the cost reasonable for smaller orders.....we have only UPS available with adult signature required, my average UPS cost is $ 33 for ~ 25 cans.

I pay $6.25 for 5 cans, so the shipping cost between UPS to the US and Swedish Post to Mexico is around the same, but my order takes 2-4 weeks to arrive and yours around 4 days

It doesn't matter, I'm grateful that I can order snus from home (in small batches).

I might be the only other mexican aware of snus.

Let me tell you my experience ordering from SnusExpress:

Placed 10+ orders from 2011-2013 with no issues at all (other than having to wait up to 6 weeks for delivery).

Lately in 2014 I have placed five orders and only two have arrived. The first that didn't arrive was for 20 cans (my largest ever), so I thought that it was forfeited due to the large volume. Two additional orders were placed afterwards and have not received them yet (8 weeks now ).

One thing to note is that I changed delivery addresses. Initially I had the orders delivered to my former job in Santa Fe and all of them arrived, now I changed jobs and moved to Lomas de Chapultepec and that was when the problems started. I suspect that the postal office in Las Lomas has something to do with the packages not arriving.

Just to verify: Could you tell me wich "Delegación" are your orders delivered to? Maybe I'll have better lick on a different address.

It's nice to see that I'm not the only mexican that uses snus. My experience so far has been 5 orders placed to be delivered to delegación Álvaro Obregón.

1° order: 5 cans, shipped in two weeks without problem (SnusCentral).
2° order: 8 cans splitted in two packages, shipped in one month (Northerner).
3° order: 5 cans, shipped in 3 weeks (SnusCentral).
4° order: 6 cans with 5 cans being in one package and the other can in another package. the 5 can package was lost but the one can package did arrive... weird (Northerner).
5° order: 10 cans (1 roll) placed with BuySnus during their recent anniversary sale. I placed it 11 days ago so there's still time for it to arrive.

I bought my main snus stash and had it send to the US, then a friend of mine brought it to me. If packages start to go missing, I might as well go to the US so I can order there a 60+ order, i use a can a week so a 50+ order lasts for quite a while.

Hi Joserra, since you order snus to Latin America aswell, it would be verry nice to exchange some info. I live in Brazil and are too struggeling to get my snus.

*Mysnus: Pack was posted the day after ordering and arrived Brazil in 3 days. Then made a little roundtrip to Columbia! then back to Brazil again. Still there according to tracking. BUT today (after 6 weeks) I got a notification in my mailbox from UPS in Brazil posted over 4 weeks ago (before it made the roundtrip to COLUMBIA) that my package was on hold in Sao Paulo due to missing TAX ID. They kindly asked me to email them my social security number and reminded me that since the value was over $50 USD they would tribute it with additional 60% tax. The value is not only the snus, but also shipping value is included. But ok, what REALLY pisses me off is that I paid UPS (Express) but they send a notification by snailmail which took over four weeks for me to recive, INSTEAD of sending me a bloody email asking for my ID or even call me as my number was also registred in the order.

So please man, can you share some of your experiences. Mexico has a 5can limit? What about TAX? Express vs regularmail? Your favorite online store?

No, we don't have a 5 can limit... it is illegal haha. You can't send tobacco via postal mail /UPS/etc. so in theory, every order a website sends you should be confiscated by customs, in theory.

Since we are a developing country, this doesn't always apply. Either they don't check all packages or they sometimes don't care. When I say 5 can limit is because I assume there's a correlation between order size and probability of getting caught by customs. Also, if your order gets held up, losing 5 cans is less painful than a 50 can order.

Since it is illegal, there's no tax for it. Websites don't offer the option of express mail for Mexico so all orders are sent via regular mail.

I've tried SnusCentral, Northerner and Buy Snus. I only have placed one order with Buy Snus (a really cheap one, great discount) and it took like 2 months to arrive. I've placed like three orders with SC and N and I think of those three, one didn't arrive for each one of them.

What I do to get my hands on snus is to send it to the US to someone I know and they bring it to me. I order like 40 cans and since I only consume around 1 can a week, a 40 cans order lasts me for a long time.

Haven't placed a new order to be sent to Mexico in a while, I'll do it when there are a couple of new snuses I would like to try and I don't want to wait 6 months till my next big order

I am an Mexican-American Studying in Oaxaca and I've met so many Norwegians who love snus and they got me hooked on it. I was wondering if you would suggest ordering snus to Oaxaca or not? Gracias

Hey wei, nice to see I'm not the only mexican who's into snus. I wouldn't recommend it, I stopped ordering snus because after a few orders, they didn't arrive (either it was held at customs since it's ilegal to receive tobacco via postal mail or it just got lost).

My recommendation is to find someone who goes to the US, place an order to be shipped to him over there so he can bring it to you in Oaxaca, that's the safest bet
