Shops in California selling brands other than General?

Hi. Im new to the forum, writing from Sacramento, CA. I've been enjoying snus for a few months now. Thus far I've only been able to find General offerings at the local tobacconists and a few shops I tried while in the Los Angeles area. Im wondering if anyone knows of shops in California, especially in Sacramento, Los Angeles or SF Bay Area, that offer more than just General, as I'd like to try other brands. My wife tolerates the snus so far, but I'd rather not buy online if I can avoid it, since that will put it in her face on our credit card bill. Married life. Thanks for any suggestions. Also, nothing against General- I've been liking the regular los and portions a lot. I just want to branch out a little.

I highly doubt you'll find anything but General, unless its some of the worthless American made snus like Camel. And what I never understood is Camel makes or made some real tasty Swedish snus, real Swedish snus. I got a can of it some years back before they made them quit selling it to the USA. As far as credit card goes, get a Walmart card and put some money on it and use that to order. Just be prepared to buy at least a couple rolls otherwise it isn't worth the shipping to order it.

Welcome to Snuson. Have you tried Briar Patch Smoke Shop in Sacramento? You can see a list of shops in California that carry snus other than General.

Thanks, both of you. I like the Walmart card idea. I have tried the small Briar Shop annex downtown, and they only have General and something else that was only in mint flavor. Been meaning to try the other Briar, but haven't had a chance to drop in. I'll take a look soon, and I'll check the links you sent.

You have to go to the OTHER Briar Patch shop, and let Ron know that Rick sent you...he'll be good to you :-) There are other shops in your area too, but I'll have to wait until Monday to let you know, when I'm back in the office. Thanks

I tried the Briar Patch at Loehmann's Plaza today. All I saw was the General fridge which held only General brand products. I wanted to inquire if there was other snus stock, but I was summarily ignored- as if I wasn't there. Owner was helping another customer, but there were several times when he could have simply glanced over, etc. I'm not picky about customer service, but I was on my way to work, so I could only wait five minutes, then I left. The quest continues.

I envy you guys, you can get snus either at any gas station or order it online without any problem.

Being in Mexico, I only have two options: 1) Order it online but in very small amounts (5 cans) and facing the risk of customs holding my order 2) If someone from the US is coming to Mexico or someone's going there, asking them to bring me some.

I'm probably gonna be sent from work to Washington DC in October for a week, I'll place a big order (80+ clans) and have it sent to the hotel 80+ cans is a big order for me since I use around 5 cans a month, so having snus for 16 months is good enough.

Rick, you should be a pioneer and introduce snus to Mexico haha.

Rick should introduce Pioneer snus eveywhere! That was seriously good Los snus! Best of luck with your evil plan Jossera!

I called Briar Patch in Sacramento a few months ago and was told everything was out of stock except General. I believe I spoke with the owner and he told me that he is able to place an order and ship it to me. I called again yesterday to see if they had anything else in stock besides General and was told no, only General. As far as General goes, it is still fairly easy to find but a lot of places have stopped carrying it altogether. As a plus, the price of a can of General around here has been $2.99 for quite a while. In my opinion, the snus market in the USA is going through a very slow and painful death.

I'll need to speak to Ron, because everything is available to him. Not sure, but I'll find out

I can understand Ron not wanting to expand his stock if people aren't buying what he already has. I'm a light user, so I wouldn't exactly be clearing his shelf. But if he had a can or two of other brands, I'd buy them.

I'm also interested in making my own, though, alopezg1. Would wild California tobacco work? I know a few places it grows around here. Probably a topic for a different thread/sub-forum.
