And I'm confused as to why people are still skeptical of Northerner. I've placed at least three orders with them over the span of more than a year and I've not had a problem. Prices are good, though it used to be confusing, because you'd get these European taxes added to your bill, which would be wiped off by the time you got to the final confirmation. The order arrived within three to five days. And everything was there. My last order was Fourth of July because I'd knew they have a sale, and I believe it was 25% off everything. So now I know to time my orders with holiday sales.

My last order was actually the only time I've had a problem with them, and I'm not entirely sure it was directly their fault. I somehow got charged twice for the same order, but the two charges were within a few dollars of each other. I'm leaning to this being a problem with their payment processor. The main reason I typically order from them is because they sell expired/soon to expire snus that's perfectly fine but dirt cheap.

        Sorry!

For me it's once bitten, twice shy! Anyone remember their last 'relaunch'?

Northerner DID eventually make good all my orders that went wrong from that time ... but I would be wary until it is all up and running smoothly myself.

Sometimes wrong and sometimes right .... but ALWAYS certain!!!

OK, here is the reason. I placed order with them on 11/24. Today it is 12/8 and the order is still "Processing".

BTW, it was not a specific brand. I ordered "expired loose snus", which means they can generally send whatever they bloody wish. But they seem to wish to just keep my money instead.

That's a good reason to be skeptical. I wonder if it's been a result of this relaunch--whatever the heck that means anyway. My next order probably won't be until Easter anyway, as I'm assuming they'll have a sale then and I have enough of a stash to last until then. I'm pretty certain I do. So I'll keep hoping I have luck with them. If not I'll order from somewhere else.

Remember the tax increase from January, though. Waiting for Easter might not be the best idea. I am stashing now, mostly through Snusline.

Hopefully, they're not waiting six months for your Snus to expire, before they ship it !

                    Crap....that's right

And isn't this year supposed to be a big increase

For the life of me I can not understand a country that on the one hand will threaten to leave the EU over a product.............. and then on the other hand....... it turns around and taxes that same product out of viable existance
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

I believe that country already nationalized monopoly to that product to finance its social system once... :disgust:

(At least I think I read it in something like History of Ettan. Correct me if I am wrong.)

I thought the tax was only for snus sold in Sweden, and didn't affect out of country buyers...

Basically the tax issue is a bit confusing ... but not impenetrable:

Northerner Sweden has to charge VAT (25% !!!) and tobacco taxes on all snus - this is true for all vendors in Sweden. There may be ways that this tax can be dropped for customers outside the EU - but it's complicated. The EU laws state that national VAT and local taxes must be paid by all EU citizens for online sales.

Northerner USA only has to pay US taxes - which are usually way lower (or non-existent!) ... people in the EU ordering from Northerner US warehouse also benefit from not paying the taxes ... but are at risk of their parcels being intercepted and having an import duty (equivalent to their local tobacco tax plus VAT) to pay.

Northerner also has a Danish warehouse which some lines of snus are sent to EU members from ... presumably when you buy those items then you're being charged danish taxes too.

Looking at the prices - Snusline which is based in Israel also only have to pay local taxes - which means it is unlikely for the rise in Swedish taxes to affect their prices.

I think running an international web-shop selling snus is becoming increasingly complicated and not an enterprise I'd personally even consider starting up! It must be a nightmare.
