That's where my tastes fall also. I got a bottle of Ardbeg a couple weeks ago, and I think it may be my favorite Islay whisky. I've never had one quite so briny. Same with the tobacco. I haven't found an American yet I like as well as Copenhagen snuff, and it's gotten to the point I could be pretty happy solely using Ettan, but I don't think the weird flavors should banned. Ridiculed, sure, but not banned. There's no accounting for taste.

Don't get it twisted, squeezy, I love a good tobacco tasting snus or dip. I also love the melon as a change of pace. A lot of adults like candy and candy flavors. This BS about marketing to kids based on flavors is just that: BS.

The chocolate liqueur is as delicious as it ever was. That's not even getting into the cream sherry, Carolans Irish cream, and Chambord... Should all of those be banished also? Some don't have an especially long historic use either...
True. It's not like they named it "Bubble Gum", or "Tutti-Frutti", or "Power Rangers Melon Blast".
I was gonna say that they should have used the Swedish name for melon, but as it turns out, it's "melon".

My initial comment did mention that I agree with the FDA's attitude towards adding candy type flavours ... and it is clear that several of you fundamentally disagree with that point of view whether it is due to political principles ... or just that you like girly flavours ... I'm quite cool with that.

However - the main point I was making was that; given the FDA has this approach and that everyone knew that it did ... it was a misjudgement of Jakobsson's to endanger their entry of the US marketplace by putting forward such a blatantly flavoured snus in the current climate!

And just an extra qualification why I wish to speak out against Gotlandssnus ... I feel betrayed by them big time. They have gone from a beacon of light in the snus market making a small range of amazingly flavoured and high-quality snus that had an artisan feel about it and was highly revered amongst SnusOn members at the time ... to a company who will now make some of the least remarkable, artificially flavoured snuses out there albeit in flashy cans.

Why did this happen? Because they wanted to expand in the US and make their fortunes.

Sometimes chasing the money doesn't lead to a better outcome.

I hear ya. Losing Gotlandssnus lössnus is probably my greatest snus disappointment. It even exceeds the amazing shrinking tins.

A man who is comfortable with his masculinity should be able to enjoy a creme de menthe from time to time surely

                  :-(

                  :-)

I know our politics are miles apart - but I love arguing with you Lxskllr! That's the problem with the internet ... I suspect if we got together for a drink that the world would be so 'set to rights' that it wouldn't know what had hit it!

Now there's a drink that neither adults nor kids enjoy!

I'd love to take you up on that, and give 'er hell. Maybe some day I'll be able to get over your way :^)

                      Edit:
Regarding creme de menthe... I like it on ice cream, but probably haven't had it since I was too young to drink :^D

Or vice versa ... maybe my job will take me your way one day ... but you're probably in some kind of home-made nuclear bunker full of firearms and tinned food to last 30 years under the desert in Texabama so I suspect it would be hard to hook up ... especially while I'm trying to save a whole lot of oriental one-armed lesbian bagpipe players from persecution.

                        :^)

Is there a group for one armed lesbian bagpipe players?

The EU has a committee for them, they get funding and everything, they don't shave though.
