    ridiculous shipping prices

So it's been a while since I've made a snus order, been getting tired of general originals/whites from the local gas stations that carry it.

I place an order for only 6 cans on buysnus, and it says freight is 6.25. Great. I go to snuscentral to compare and everything is cheaper. Except the shipping gives me:
    UPS Express Saver $25.74
    UPS Express US $27.13
A total of 44.13 for the first option.
    Whoa
I figured I'll just use buysnus, of course when I go to sign in and choose a shipping method, all I get are the same 2 choices (except a few bucks more each)
    UPS Worldwide Express Saver $28.75
    UPS Worldwide Express $30.00
    total 57.15

    almost $60
    for 6 cans?
WTF is this? I remember ordering a dozen cans from buysnus and never paying over 20$ for shipping. I live in a big town in IL, USA
Some fluke? If it's the new normal, then what other options are there besides this nonsense and gas stations?

Crazy, isn't it. Your best bet is buy more as the shipping would be the same for a larger order, maybe up to 18-20 cans for the same price as your six cans.....there is a flat charge of about $ 20(?) for UPS to get an adult signature.....

Its around the same for us in the eu/uk for ups. though we can get it sent by post but as i buy 30 cans min a time it seems pointless. Plus ups is quicker. yer just checked £21 for delivery. lol. plus you have to pay UK VAT at 20% or so.

I usually order 60 to 80 cans, and wait until they have a sale like "15 cans for the price of 10" at SC. Takes the bite out of the high shipping costs.

Yeah i wasn't wanting to spend more than 40 for a few cans though. 6 was the max count for the freight to be 6.25, 10 on the 7th can. Though I'm not sure if that directly translates the ups costs, as the freight amount is gone and replaced by them when checking out..

I remember using post as it was by far the cheapest even though it took a while. Now there is no option for it. What the hell happened? Did another BS law get passed?

"The individual ordering and taking delivery of snus has to be an adult, over 18 years of age."

So, this translates into an additional charge from UPS to check I.D. and obtain the adult signature required to take a tobacco delivery.........

This is all a result of PACT

And the UPS monopoly it created for mail order tobacco products.

So I want the numbers: how has dip/cigarette consumption among people under aged decreased since PACT........no wait......that was never really the point was it
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

They have to ship it to you through UPS, and they can not use Swedish Mail/USPS (which is cheaper) for deliveries. Outside the US (and Europe) I used Swedish Mail to have tobacco shipped to me. It was cheap, and I made smaller orders to evade customs. Usually it would cost $7 for an order like yours by Swedish Mail. But it take longer to get to you.

I make bigger orders. I order about 80-ish cans and shipping is $30-ish to a small town in South Carolina.
The supply lasts me for a few months. I put them in the freezer. They stay fresh. I order on Wednesday early morning (EST) and I get my delivery on Friday afternoon, which is very fast!

In addition, some online stores have specials for over $150 & over $250 orders, so I take advantage of those as well. Saving on the cost of cans, and cost of shipping.

Yeah I kinda figured that...trouble is I dont really make enough coin to justify such large orders. I just wanted a few of the old good stuff. Looks like it's gone for good till they either sell it here or figure some other shipping out.
