New snusser - importing into US?

    Hey all,

Did a quick search, but couldnt find anything relevant, but please please please excuse me if this has been posted about in the past.

I ordered 2 cans of General White portioned snus from Bu**nus.com and I'm just now realizing that I could be charged import tax on them. Does anyone know anything about this? What would I be charged, would I be charged at all (are orders $200> ok)?

If I am gonna be charged for them, I'd rather cancel my order and head down to my tobacco store, but I ordered before I realized they stocked General and then figured I'd wait.

    Thanks for your help guys!

    Welcome to the forum!
From what I remember being kicked around, You have to go over $200.00
before customs starts messing with you. I've ordered alot of snus from buysnus.com or northerner.com and never had any problem. I beileive my bigest single order was a hundred bucks and some change, no problem.
If you want, check out the "stores and online shops" section of the forum. There's lots of info on good supliers and other relevant info.

UPS just sent me a bill for $6.50 on a $70 order from Northerner into the US.
25 cents duty, the rest brokerage charges.

Is it any better with USPS?

Swedish Post is cheaper, just as fast if not faster, but it's not trackable...

Yes, if they do not put some kind of surcharge on you that costs the same, or even more. The order should only take about 2 to 3 days more to get to you. It is said that Snus can go up to 2 weeks out of the refrigerator (I ASSUME this refers to unopened cans).

The catch is to place your order on a Saturday or Sunday - that takes off at least one day of the Snus Order traveling from the shipper to the buyer.

I've never been hit with additional charges from UPS or USPS where I live, but American States vary in regards to this.
