Snus in Germany

Hello fellow snus fans.

My name is Aron and I'm from Iceland. I'm going on a school trip to Berlin in a week, and I was wondering if anybody here knew whether or not they sold snus there... and if so, does anybody know of any nice snus shops?

I don't think you'll find much snus in germany - denmark is probably the closest place where you can buy snus in shops. If you want snus, you should probably bring it with you.

Snus is banned for sale in Germany, since 2002, as in most countries of the E.U. (except for Denmark, where lössnus is allowed, and , of course, Sweden, the motherland of snus).

Apart of that, snus is absolutely NOT illegal in Germany. You can easily purchase and import it for personal use, through the well-known internet-shops or - as Zero mentioned, buy it directly in Denmark or Sweden. There are no problems with customs or custom fees - as long as you don't order or drive a whole lorry, full of snus, which, of course, would arouse the curiosity of our customs officers.

The legal situation in Germany simply is, as if snus were some kind of a food delicacy, that needs some approval - and therefore isn't allowed to sell. It is absolutely not treated as an illegal drug!

I've read, that snus is illegal in Iceland, as if were a 'hard drug' and not a healthier alternative for cigarette users. If this is true, I would say, that icelandic politicians are criminals, while our own politicians are - to say it friendly - idiots - mindlessly obeying the E.U.-directives, which are - in my view - NOT democratically justified.

I'll just bring my own snus along with me then. Buying snus isn't hard here in Iceland if you know the right people. It is illegal, but I wouldn't say it was considered a hard drug. The worst thing that can happen is you get a fine in customs.
