I have my next order in but according to UPS it may not make it to me until next Wednesday and I'm not quite sure I have enough left to make it. I have smoked in the last two weeks since starting so don't want to start again. I'm wondering if any of my MN brothers and sisters know of any retailers in MN that sell any brand of snus that will tide me over in a pinch?
Any Minnesota stores sell snus?

so far I have found none. There may be some in minneapolis, but I don't get there much I'm from around the elk river area. Swedish Match doesn't list any official retailers in our area, but that doesn't mean you can't find any. Good luck and let me know if you find something. I just got my last order from Northerner in 4 days using the regular swedish post.

Lots of people of Swedish descent here for sure but there's not really much Swedish culture. Perhaps it's because most of the immigrants arrived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. That and the popularity of cigarettes throughout the 20th centuries made snus all but disappear around here. It would be great if Ikea stores across the US would start stocking snus; seeing how the founder is a big-time snuser.
From an article I posted a ways back:
Perhaps the best way to describe snus is to let a snus-user himself
lend praise in words. Ingvar Kamprad, IKEA founder and long-time
snus user, said this about snus in an interview not too long ago:
“After a three-course gourmet meal, some people talk about light-
ing up a cigar… I say nothing is more satisfying than a pinch of fresh
snus… pure joy.” As added by another user:
“It’s more of an overall and sensuous experience and not just a nico-
tine rush or a chemical reaction… it’s a sensual, almost carnal feeling,
when you have the pinch or pouch under the lip…
“It’s very much of a personal thing – you have the taste, the physi-
cal aspect of having something under the lip. Nicotine is a very small
part of the experience when you think about it… it’s a well-known
fact when it comes to food that, smell, taste, looks and the overall tex-
ture and total experience of any given dish means more than filling our
stomach.
“To use snus is a luxury, but so are so many other things of the
industrialized world today, even eating to enjoy taste, the ambiance or
the company of others… rather than to fill up on energy

There aren't any in St. Paul. That much I know.
All I know of is Tourney and Camel at gas stations (SA mostly).
This may be a longshot - There are a couple towns north of the metro that have Swedish sister cities. I'm thinking of Center City and Lindstrom Both towns have Swede flags and whatnot all over the place... Swede gift shops, there's even a place called "Sven's" where you can get custom made clogs. You could try maybe calling around up there. But like I said, longshot.

Summer is definitely the better time to come, especially with the cold we are feeling today.
So, anyways I picked up a can of spearmint Tourney and a can of Wintergreen Timber Wolf packs and a can of Mint Timber Wolf packs. I have to say from trying the Wintergreen first it reminded me of the first time I tried any Wintergreen flavor, a little medicinal, then it started to burn my throat a little so picked up a frozen coke from super america which helped. I picked up the can of Tourney there. My wife is trying that at the moment. The Wintergreen I'll probably leave for her  .
I'm trying the Mint Timber Wolf now and so far not too bad. I am rationing my remaining real snus and desperately checking the arrival and departure scans on my ups delivery and hoping it comes tomorrow although I am fearing a Wednesday delivery while I am at work  .
Well for now we'll see how this stuff works for tonight and whether I survive it. It's all about survival snus at this point and no smoking. 2 weeks smokeless so far and focusing on that.

Ok, my review of Timber Wolf Mint is that it does definitely not taste like Offroad Ice Mint. There was an aroma and flavor swirling around that I couldn't quite place that just was not very pleasant. I got my nic hit but then was very happy dinner was ready and pulled it out early. It was one of the few times I felt like rinsing my mouth.

For such similar products dip and snus are very different. You will get much more flavor out of the dip. From reading, it appears many snus users consider the pris or portion done when it starts to run with too much flavor. A dip is done when the flavor runs out. I find myself working the snus just to generate some flavor. Try a can labeled "Natural" and see if that works better for you, less sweet with much less artificial flavor.

So the Tourney Spearmint was closer to snus amongst the 3 i tried but it definitely is a coarser cut and I could feel the difference on my gums. Flavor wise it was more along what I was expecting. The spearmint was not overly strong or sweet and except for the coarseness of the tobacco and the smaller pouch I could see this being an easy go to when shipments are late.
In hindsight, I think I will become one of those that has a stash of a few months or more just because of this experience. I will suffer through the next day or so with the Timber Wolf stuff so that my wife can have the Tourney.
