The future of snus and the people that sell it

There was a post here about the potential of tobacco company shills on the forums here and it reminded me of a few posts here and also what I have seen around the small town where I live.....

    Stupid Tobacco Reps!!!

I sat for about 20 minutes at the local quickie mart explaining to the manager what snus is (they pronounced it snus as in snuff, they said the Camel Rep said it like that) snuses history, it's uses (they were told lower lip it) and other than those two things, not much else.

Camel might not be the best snus out there but it is a good start and with Swedish Match making a push into the domestic market it is only a matter of time before almost every American will know about snus.

    How will that go?

Will we learn about a new product that has potential to save hundreds of thousands of lives each year through harm reduction?

Will we learn about the convenience of snus?

Will we learn how to freaking pronounce it correctly?

Will we learn about the studies that have been done showing it is a much less harmful product?

Will we learn about the many folks that are no longer enslaved to lighting up?

Will we have educated, knowledgeable tobacco reps that know what the hell they are doing?

I think we all agree to some extent that there are tobacco company folks that read the boards here and I bet they would love to hear some feedback on topics like this also.

Consider this a challenge to each of us also, take the time to educate your fellow tobacconists about snus so that the right message gets out there!

I personally find it a real chuckle watching all the reviews of camel snus on youtube, all these guys that sound like they are snus aficionados. One guy berated another guys vid because he pronounced it wrong, then the former proceeded to place a snus under his lower lip.
Seriously though, I hope the EU gets it's finger out and reconsiders lifting the ban. Well, I guess ordering from Northerner will have to do for now. The future sounds rosey in the US from what I've read.

When I first picked up a can of Camel Frost from the gas station, they gave me a little card that Camel produced that had some of the basics, and it had a guide that said that snus rhymes with moose, so it's kind of a surprise that their reps would mispronounce it, or that they'd be telling people to lower lip it, as the booklet also said it goes in the upper lip. It also mentioned that there's no need to spit (true), the portion should be in for around 15 minutes (more a personal thing), and that it doesn't need refrigeration (eh, dunno about that)
