    USA Brands in an emergency

Hi everyone! Im still new here, but figured i would ask questions that ive been struggling to find answers to. My questions is, if your from the USA and your out of snus whats your emergency plan? what brands can you actually buy in the USA? I live in florida so if your from florida please tell me some brands you use and where you get them from. please no chew or snuff. there is a smokeinn (cigar shop) that sells general, but basically i want to know if there are any brands that are sold possibly in gas stations that isnt camel snus. Ive heard of different brands like klondike and such, but ive never seen em and trying to find out if they are still in testing phases in different states is the problem im having. so basically, what USA brands are available and how common are they to find? If your from florida, (west palm beach would be a great help) where do you buy your snus( if your swedish order is still on its way)

    sorry for the long post

Some other brands you may see here in the US would be Grand Prix and Triumph.

thanks for the reply : ) how common are grand prix and triumph? do you find them at gas stations? Ill obviously go ask when i get to one eventually. Does walmart sell snus? Im thinking florida is not really a snusing state, so some states might welcome these brands into their stores, besides FL. Even at the cigar shop that sells general they were not sure what snus was when i asked. They literally stock 6 cans.(2 regular portions, 2 white portions, 2 regular loose ) so when i buy the 4 cans of portion, they are out already. plus no wintergreen!!! : (

oh and mrabstraco, i used that site to find the smokeinn last week. their stock is very small as i stated above, and some of the stores listed dont have any. thanks tho!

The key is to never let yourself run out

          Otherwise, there is:

          Camel Mellow
          Camel Frost
Triumph Classic (tastes like a sweetened version of Roda Lackett)
          Triumph Mint
Tourney ??Never had this but I hear it is pretty bad
          Grand Prix ??same as above
Klondike (more like American dip than snus)
Skoal Snus (a few different flavors)
          and
Nordic Ice (I think that is what it''s called, havent seen it in stores yet)

Myself... If I were ever to run out, I'd just use Copenhagen which I still use daily. There is no snus flavor that comes even remotely close to Cope. That makes me sad.

Grand Prix I've found at two or three different independent tobacco shops. It's available in two flavors- mint/green and regular. It's always dirt cheap, the place near me literally has a .99 sticker on it. I recall seeing it in one or two gas stations as well. It's the same thing as Tourney, and it tastes like pure dogshit. I've noticed that you see the "Tourney" cans further north, while in the south I see the "Grand Prix" more often.

Triumph I have never seen in my life. I've looked high and low for it, but I don't think that it's available anywhere near me.

And count yourself lucky if you have a supply of General locally. There are two places within a 45 minute drive from me that stock it, for almost eight dollars a can. I told the guy running the place that I could get two cans shipped from Sweden cheaper than what he was running it for, and he just ignored me.

thanks for the replys! so anyway, i was at the gas station earlier and saw grizzly snuff pouches. Being the impulse buyer i was i bought a can of wintergreen. I tried it today and to be honest i was never a snuff or chew guy. while i do believe theres a place for it, it wasnt for me. BUT i actually liked it! of course these things dont have instructions, so i need to ask a newb question. was i doing it right? i put the pouch on my lower lip. the saliva i spit out wasnt black like i remember other peoples own was. it was like ice tea. am i doing it right? lol i feel so stupid. where do you place the pouch and how long do you leave it in?

There's no hard/fast rule as to how to snus, but generally you put the portion under your top lip and keep it in for as long as it's flavorable, anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour or longer.

If the Grizzly pouch is actual snuff, then you put it in your bottom lip I guess. I hear some people refer to it as a snus pouch, but it sounds more like Skoal Bandits to me. :?

the pouches of american dip are more like 3-4 skoal bandits stuck together.

                  quite a buzz

I would probably be using them in the horrible eventuality of snus not being available, or I'd just slam energy drinks and coffee till I couldn't remember which drugs I was addicted to

I'm in FL and the only snus I've seen here at c-stores was Marlboro and Camel and both are 'new' to these here parts. Marlboro spearmint isn't bad but the pouches seem to be made out of cardboard! I like the sweet camel snus once in a while but hate their new bigger portions.

yeah i tried the grizzley pouches and liked it, but i dont really see myself doing it more than 2 more times. I dont like the spitting aspect of it. Im all about snus now. It sucks that camel and marlboro are floridas only alternatives. I havent even seen or tried the marlboro yet. But i guess its not all bad since there is a cigar shop here with general portions (still no wintergreen) still havent seen triumph or any others besides camel. Although according to you guys maybe thats a good thing!!

The last time I was truly out, I just bought cigarettes.

Better strategy is just not run out. I usually order now when I am down to about 30 cans, never later than when am down to 20 cans.

A gentleman from Florida I like to read often writes about Stonewall dissolvables. They are not Snus, of course, but allegedly they are very good. Might be an option for emergencies...

Do you have Smoker Friendly in your neck of the woods? If so you can pick up some Klondike, and some Nordic Ice. They both suck in comparison to the real stuff, but they will get you by.

Also, as said above, Stonewall lozenges are actually really good. The Java flavor is great, and it definitely will satisfy your nicotine needs.
