If you are mad at Northerner for offering US chewing tobacco

And go on to say silly things like you don't want to use them anymore, then you should boycott your local convenience store, your grocery store, and all the other places you shop that offer it along with cigarettes. Otherwise your argument seems rather invalid.

Frankly, I don't care one way or the other. I used to chew Levi Garret leaf and plug, and I had many friends who dipped Skoal and the like. I guess I'm just used to it.

I think alot of people have a stigma in this country when it comes to dip. There is a backwoods redneck image the media has put on it , but that doesn't have to be the case and no one is dealt escaping that stigmA by using snus . If someone sees that round can come out of your pocket they are gonna think dip. I realy don't care if they do either I love giving people an ear tax ear toothy grin with my mouth full of drippy muddy loose . Let em think whatever I love snus and it saved my lungs!!! I also enjoy some peach skoal every now and then.

I was made fun of by a co-worker for using peach until he asked to try some.

I think I needed a portion of PP's "Monthly Friend Snus" that day. I was upset to see Northener selling dip. Actually, now I think it's a good way to turn people on to snus who would other wise not know of it.

I think it's a net good. I'm not a big dip fan personally, but I hear that there's interest in Europe and Scandinavia, so more power to them!

Plus, here in America, I'm hoping that what The Northerner is doing will produce some crossover--it may be that dippers will see that they offer snus as well, and decide to try it.

Exactly people have a tendency to make fun of anything different from what they do. Did he like the peach? If the eu wants dip let em have it .
I'm actualy trading someone from the EU a can of Skoal straight pouches for
some Montecristo. I glad to help the guy try it and happy to get something I cant get in My country.

How can you get mad? They're not making you buy it. Northerner is a business, and selling dip from their American warehouse is a wise move for them. They want to make a profit, and dip is much more popular in the US than snus. Dip is not my thing, but business wise, I feel they made a good move.

Also, this helps Europeans avoid their taxes.

I think it's a very good move on their part. Y'all got it down about being business savvy and introducing a new product to an untapped market. I also like that it's exposing a new product to said market and letting them try it out. I used to dip Copenhagen quite a bit until my switch, and though I'm not looking to go back to it anytime soon, I do like that it's a new product being offered. If Europe is interested in American dip, then I say let them try it out.

Chew is not as unhealthy as it used to be.

The perception that American oral tobacco users are poor, uneducated, and lower class is what really needs to change.

Sure spitting in public is unhygienic and unsanitary. So is smoking. Smokers used to be viewed as refined and glamorous.

I think with time the idea of people who make a conscious decision to use other forms of tobacco is viewed as a sign of intelligence.

When The Northerner makes an effort to provide a product that people have a genuine interest in either as a current user or as a curiosity buy I say good for them.

I too think it was a great move. I don't use nasal snuff, but I'm glad they sell it if I ever wanna give it a try again.

At lunch the other day Frank told me he is concerned about how the American warehouse will be received. Let's give him some positive encouragement.

TBD, rickcharles and I got together with Frank this afternoon, and hopefully we've all set his mind at ease a bit. I think it would be successful on its own, as awareness of snus is rising in the US--it will depend a lot on education about snus(especially re: smoking cessation), and of course overcoming the stigma on oral tobacco.

The choice to offer American smokeless as well just increases the likelihood of success, I think. It allows Northerner to meet demand on both sides of the Atlantic with both snus and dip. As they expand selection, it will also be a great place for Americans to get their Skoal and Cope much cheaper, and they'll run across snus as well. It strikes me as a win/win.

Edit: It also affords Europeans the opportunity to obtain snus without all of the EU taxes. See if they don't jump on that....

I think it's a fantastic business move, not to mention just cool because the EU tobacco users now have access to tobacco products sans the higher taxes.

I absolutely have no doubts that Swedish snus in the U.S will be successful, and am glad that Northerner is heading the charge. Frank is one hell of a guy.

Dip/Snuff is better for you than smoking and Northerner is just trying to introduce what EU folks on here have been asking for... American Dip.
