I guess, almost every thread here gets off-topic sooner or later. It keeps the threads interesting and vivid. IMHO we are just a small forum, that works fine, this way.

I didn't, but I'm just not a fan of lotteries in general.

    Cheers!

So with the new REK service...no tax...does that mean no tax PERIOD...like no duties and other bullshit the Canadians apparently have to deal with?

        I live in Illinois.
Before I ordered about 12 cans and didn't have any stupid extra fees.
now i'm going to get about twice that.
        will i get nabbed?

Technically, I'm betting you owe whatever US customs duties apply to your shipment. However, I think enforcement is fairly hit-or-miss, and it shouldn't be too bad even if you get billed for it (I don't know how USPS deals with customs-fees due on first-class mail). For all I know, the shipments might be too small to qualify.

And theoretically, you probably owe the great state of Illinois whatever tobacco taxes are due on whatever snus is classified as (under Illinois laws, which I have no clue about). Of course, Illinois has no idea what you get in the mail, and I doubt they'll be subpoenaing any Swedish retailers

In practice, though, it's conceivable that you might see some (small) customs fees on a randomly selected shipment, but other than that, I doubt there's anything to worry about. I think most of the Canadian's problems have to do with their provincial tobacco taxes (which *are* getting assessed on their inbound shipments).
