    Your customs is famous world round. Not just snus. I work in an industry where folks in Canada have to import a bunch of critical stuff from the US. Getting it through customs is a famous PITA for them. A topic of most conversations when I talk with my former students from Canada.

    Best bet is to just try again. It is really hit and miss.

          Sounds like they went to the same training classes as the people who work at our DMV's. :P

          You go one day, the guy wants you to get this and that and pay this to register your car. You go another day, and some other guy tells you "whatever, just pay $20 and get out of my face".

              Do what Northerner says, 'do not order more than 5 cans to canada'

              I pushed my luck with a roll of skruf and got dinged bad at the post office. I'm used to paying 30$ customs charges, for skateboard product shipped from the US, but almost 40$ for 10 cans??? 90% of my orders 4 cans or less come free.

                  I don't know how Canadians can do it.

                  http://web2.gov.mb.ca/laws/statutes/ccsm/t080e.php

                  Imposition of tax
                  2(1) Every purchaser shall pay to Her Majesty in right of Manitoba, for the public use of the government, a tax at the following rate or, if a rate prescribed by regulation is in effect, at the prescribed rate:
                  (a) 17.5¢ on every cigarette;
                  (b) for every cigar, $5. or 75% of its price at retail, whichever is less;
                  (c) 15¢ for every gram or fraction of a gram of raw leaf tobacco;
                  (d) 16.5¢ for every gram or fraction of a gram of tobacco not referred to in any of clauses (a) to (c).
                  24 grams x .165 = $3.96
                  45 grams x .165 = $7.425

                  and that's only the Provincial Tobacco Tax !

                  + Federal Excise Duty ?
                  + Federal Excise Tax ?
                  + Federal GST ?
                  + Provincial Sales Tax ?

                    Stew.12 has it right - only 5 cans per order, and most will come through scot-free, and the rest will have a $15 or so levy to pay when you pick them up at the post office.
