I placed an order on BuySnus just last week with my MasterCard. The new payment processor, DIBS, I noted to be a bit odd. The next day I received a call from MasterCard asking for authorization. I of course consented, and while my shipment was delayed more than 24 hours I am sitting here with a mouthful of snus

Northerner, Buysnus, Toque, and Snusworldwide are still taking Visa/Mastercard and shipping to the US as of this last hour.

Seems to me like it's UK vendors getting jumpy because of a combination of rumored Mastercard policy/pending (possibly) tightened US legislation. I just got off the phone with Mastercard who claims they have no such policy regarding tobacco shipment from the UK. We'll figure out what's up sooner or later.

Yea it’s not Master Card but some of the UK processing companies that are the problem. Ever noticed those credit card swipe machines at the check out counter. Notice they are different from store to store. Different machines, different processing companies.

Call em back and ask them about their approved processing companies.

MasterCard requests something like a risk premium from tobacco-vendors in Germany since last year (which certainly is nothing but a rip-off, or maybe it is an insurance for pending legislation not only in the U.S. but in several countries of the world, luckily not yet in the EU). Since then only money orders are possible for me for my regular orders of chewing tobacco and nasal snuff (the shipments take two or three days longer since then). I thought about getting a Visa card but I think they'll adopt the same rules sooner or later.

Maybe the "risk-premium" is not yet in effect in Sweden, because I can still order from there with my MasterCard ... or the snus-vendors just pay that "risk-premium". It's easily to imagine that small vendors cannot afford to pay any "premium"-fees.

Some really sad shit is happening at the moment that's for sure!

I had Capt Picard pointing to the indication they are not shipping anything to the USA (tobacco related). That sucks ass!

oh. i had a few beers and some 420 in me and thought you we're pointing out the screenshot, making me wonder if i had posted something too obvious or something.

man, after being so totally addicted to cigs for 38 years, then finding this wonderful wonderful snus, and THEN, as soon as i find this miracle of the swedes and kick the habit, all the laws start getting passed and the credit cards start doing this. i sure hope we are always going to be able to get our snus, i can see where the big tobacco companies would try to make it so we can't so then we have to buy from them. oh god, anything but the camel sugar again... :cry:

I feel you about the regulations headed down the path to becoming a pain in the ass for us snus users! I have to thank Camel for getting me to find out about Swedish snus but dang sure do not want to go back to it exclusively!
