FedEx = slowest postal service ever?

Why the hell is my snus in Paris, France?

I bought 5 (five) cans of snus at Northerner this Monday and chose FedEx to deliver the goods. The good thing with FedEx is that you can follow your snus at the journey.

Now I can see that the snus has been sent to Paris. I live in Denmark (the small country west of Sweden) about 300 km from where Northerners office is. Paris is about 1200 km south of Denmark.

I don't get this. Why would someone send my snus with a plain flying over Denmark and store it in some airport in Paris?

And I cant understand why my snus is in Paris for almost a day: Arrived: Jun 17, 2009 12:05 AM... and it has not moved since then. And yesterday my snus was at the "FedEx origin facility" in Hisings Backa, Sweden, from Jun 15, 2009 5:19 PM to Jun 16, 2009 5:22 PM. WHY?

Someone should tell FedEx to do their job and deliver their packages fast.

What are your experience with FedEx? And witch postal service should i choose next time?

I live in the US so I don't get the fedex option, from what I'm hearing that's probably a good thing.

I have heard from several people that live across the pond, and all of them have had their packages spend at least one day in paris.

I don't know why this is...maybe to give them a chance to see the sights! Just wanted you to know that you are not alone. 8)

I just talked to some gal at FedEx.

She said that all packages from Sweden are going to Paris in France. Also packages to Finland or Norway.

Thats insane and seems like wasting energy on transport.

I don't blame you. From what I'm hearing Swiss post might actually be faster, and it's cheaper.

I guess fedex has never heard that the shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line!

I remember reading someone ordering to Ireland via the Fedex 2-3 day service got their shipment ok in 3 days so there's nothing to say it might not turn up tomorrow for you. Or is there a snus thief in Charles De Gaulle airport?

I live in Memphis, which is where FedEx is based. All packages sent in the USA used to come to the Memphis hub that night, and then be delivered out early the next morning. I think they've now gone to regional hubs in the USA. It could be that Paris is a regional hub for you.

But I agree that it's unfair for your snus to see Paris before you do

After 26 hours and 35 minuttes my snus left Paris. I cant see where its going now, nut I hope the next stop is Denmark and not London, Barcelona or one of the other large cities in Europe.

I would say that this is probably the case. This is the way most of these delivery services do it nowadays, to cut down on costs and supposedly increase efficiency.

Just to be fair to FedEx: My snus has - as promised - arrived 5 minutes ago.

FedEx = ok fast, but strange. Next time I will choose a postal service where I can't see the exact location of my goods.

I got an order sent from northerner last week I usually use their Swiss postal service and have no problems.

On this order I used a fedex 2 to 4 day delivery and the fedex tracking site said it was due yesterday.

I saw the fedex van in my street and he had not package for me. This was at 3pm. I check the tracking page and it said it was still out for delivery before 6pm.

So I called them and they said it was late being cleared through customs so would not be delivered until the following day. This ****ed my whole work schedule. So I said can you make it after 3pm then they said yes. I asked them how their website was showing the wrong data and she did not know.

Luckily I got back home from work at 2pm and it came at 2:10pm

The package was split and has a dusty boot print on it. so it had been either walked or stamped on.

                            Luckily the Snus was intact.

I am sick of this world.

That's how they test for foreign explosives. They stomp on the package, and if it doesn't blow up, it's safe to go through :^P
