Well, I got home from work yesterday with that dreaded UPS sticker on the door. UPS is fine and dandy if you are home at that time, but I have to work. I signed the line on the back and wrote "please leave on porch if no one home", so we'll see how that works. I should be rather stocked for a while, but next time I order I will have to call to ensure not to send via UPS, as I'm just not home, but I could send it to my work too. My darn internet wasn't working either, I hope that clears up too.

My second order from Getsnus was just left on the porch by UPS. So no signature required this time....Or, possibility my neighbors were there when UPS guy showed up. They had been sitting on the porch. But I am 99% sure that if neighbor signed it, they would have brought it inside and left it in the hall, so I really suspect the UPS guy just left it

Well, I hope mine get's left if no one is home. I did sign the spot on the back of the sticky notice they leave. It's really a big PITA with UPS, cuz I'm at work. Now, getsnus would get a big plus IF they mentioned this on the check-out page and let you tick an option to NOT go UPS. All my orders from Getsnus before were sent regular mail, and was great, it's just I'm not home for a UPS delivery. So, I hope to have a box. This order I went all loose and a prismaster.

Can you have stuff shipped to you at work???

We ALL get private deliveries here, so that is not an issue. So I just logged into UPS the day they left a note, clicked on something and it let me enter an address to redirect my package to. So put work address in and it was waiting for me the next morning.

And again, if it is an issue, you can call Getsnus and have them put a note on the account NOT to ship via UPS. Honestly, I love to give Getsnus a hard time, mostly just cause so many here seem to have drunk the cool-aid. Plus, I know of too many folks who use them right from the starts and simply don't know about all the great snus they are missing. BUT.... as long as I can have them put a note on so I know no further shipments will be made via UPS, I can't really complain too much about Getsnus rather strange shipping quirks. AND...as much as I was irritated I had to wait an extra day, STILL got my snus at least 4 days earlier than Northerner.

But I still think Getsnus forum is stupid and damaging to the greater cause. But happy to have my Odens so fast, so will turn a blind eye to that one.

I can get packages at my work, and I thought about doing that but my internet was not working at home, I hope it's fixed by the time I get home, I have no idea what was going on with it. But I thought I'd try and see if they leave it. If I have another note, I'll either get online, or call them(UPS), and redirect it to my work.

I agree sage, getsnus annoys me for a few reasons. Shipping, selection, that awful forum, and the fact that they seem to be taking all the new-user business away from the old stand-bys. More than anything, it's the 8 cans of expired snus they sent me. It's not a huge deal, as the expiration date passed while the snus was in transit, but I ordered the strong los sampler because it was a good deal, and all 6 were expired. I ordered two additional GES los cans and they too were expired. By a few days, but it still bothered me.

Most important with getsnus, however, is ordering at a time of day when you can call and change the shipping option. The first time I ordered it was sent UPS and it took 6 full business days, so 8 days over a weekend. Same as buysnus! I placed my 2nd order with them on Tuesday, and despite the fact that Bob at getsnus told me I couldn't track it if sent USPS, I opened the email they sent me, clicked on "track it", and the parcel was shipped from PA to Federal Way, WA in just over 24 hours. What's more, I logged in again just now and it's made it the 20 miles up to Seattle and has been delivered to my door in less than 48 hours. Now that's good shit Never again will I let them or anyone ship UPS! It made a difference of 6 days, including my own effort to order at the right time (Tues morning instead of Thurs evening).

Edit - I thought you were asking if it was possible. I didn't know you were asking somebody else. Sorry about that.

Roo, you can call Getsnus and just have them put a note on the account not to ship via UPS. What I have done.

I think the existence of Getsnus, the ability to get snus in a few days is a BIG thing. And having a retailer here, in case things go bad with the recent spate of bills, is maybe a good thing.

So despite my issues, I will occasionally throw them some business. But Norther, other than the wait, is still SO much better. MUCH better bonus program, carry everything, and cheaper still than Getsnus, at least on the few orders I have done a direct comparison .

But I am happy to be counted as a Getsnus customer now. With all the crap I have said about them over the past 6 months, sending them some money was kind of like the least I could do.

What kind of bonus system does Northern have?

You earn like 10 points for every can you order. You can then redeem them for merchandise like t-shirts, candy, AND SNUS!!!!!!. Typical redemption for snus is like 60 points. So you basically get one free can of snus for every 6 you order. Points build up when not used.

They also have a night at the Ice Hotel you can get, but that takes something like 130,000 points

But most important, YOU pick what you get for your points. Here is the bonus selection from Northerner

Joy! Well, I came home today, and the box was here! Got a variety of loose, and a prismaster. The prismaster works great, way better than that syring tool I made, though a full pris is kinda big, I'll try a smaller one next time. I tried the Offroad Cranberry 1st, and it's great! I put the others in the freezer for now, I don't see a need to have a bunch of open loose cans, I still have over half a can of Grov los still. Oh, and my free can was General Los, I noticed on the back, it's made in Kentucky!

I'm a sucker for trinkets like those. I'm going to have to start placing orders there.

I don't think I'd like freezing my ass off in the Ice Hotel though.

Depends on who you have with you to keep you warm now doesn't it?

I read it's constantly 17 degrees Fahrenheit in that thing. That's pretty cold. It wouldn't be a matter of who I had there with me to keep warm as much as it would a matter of how many I had there to keep me warm.

I did see an interesting story about how to get the best possible sleep and main things that were needed were a cold temperature with warm bedding and complete silence and darkness. There's caves that attract people just to experience the awesome quality of sleep you can get in them. The other place was some crazy igloo. I don't think it was one of the ice hotels, but they seem to offer the same qualities needed for these super sleeps to occur.

Still, I don't think I'd like it that much.

I think it would be interest to experience.

Except for the bathroom part. The ice toilets would stick to my ass and then when I had to take a leak there would be steam everywhere.
